Canada originally leased the Leopard 2A6M to bolster it’s leopard fleet in Afghanistan, before it entered service with the Canadian Army the CAF had the leopards upgraded by KMW to fit Canadian specification.
The upgrades included additional front plate armor
Standoff slat armor on the sides (similar to 2A4M)
Slat cage on the back.
Anti Mine plate on the bottom
IED jamming devices on the back of the turret (the T shaped antenna)
After the lease expired the CAF purchased the leopards, in late 2024 the CAF put the 2A6Ms into be upgraded, it would become known or has become known as the 2A6MC2 featuring significant upgrades to thermals (if it hadn’t in the original purchase), FCS, likely a barrel overhaul to the L55/A1.
The leopard 2A6M/C2 would be a great addition to the German tree and could be foldered with the 2A6, it would add another Canadian vehicle to the tree and would likely add something unique, it would also add another vehicle with hi res thermals to the German tree since just about everyone else has decently high resolution thermals and could provide a stop gap till they add the 2A8.
Germany has enough Leopard 2 versions man. this variant would also be identical to ones already in the german tree. Canadians are also not too happy with being in three different tech trees so prepare for discourse over that
No, as pointed out Germany has more than enough German Leos it could get, it needs no foreign-operated ones.
Plus until Canada gets a home in one TT WT has more than enough Canadian Leos. As being ripped across tech trees is the worst fate a nation could have so it’s something those who enjoy said nation fight against.
Still think giving france three subtrees as one is a bit much, france has a really spicy selection of vehicles of their own to be added when the belgian and dutch armies are mostly british, american and german export vehicles. Luxemburg does use some french built AFVs but thats hardly a reason why the other two should go there. I do think Iberia (spain and portugal) would have been a better subtree choice for france

it wouldn’t have been that big of a deal if not for the fact that the sub trees are always just copy slop, like no fokker D.XXI-4, D.23, S.14, T.V, ohter variants of the G.I, Renard R.36, R.38, R.40, Koolhoven F.K.55, F.K.58, CF-100 Canuck… Or they could have gone a bit crazy and added the Fairey ER.103 or the Fokker-Republic D-24 But nope, a whole air line with a whopping one unique plane, i guess its better than the Hungarian air line that was fully copy past lmao

It more useful in current gameplay add another leopard without hull armor it not really gonna help that much.
I would suggest making Canada part of the German tree then, Canada historically has used a bunch of German vehicles such as the G Wagon, Leopard etc. it makes sense to put them there.
