Can we talk about people telling others to "kys" "Kill yourself" and other variations?

Alright so I debated posting this because I wasn’t really sure on how to go about it. I’m going to start this off by saying I battle anxiety, depression, and mental health challenges daily. Its something I’ve had to battle since I was a small child. Some days are much easier than others, but on this day I was really going through it. I was looking for anything to find positive. From quoting a movie line and hearing someone quote a line back. Just anything. I know… I know… Maybe I shouldn’t go looking for that in a game. You’re right. Especially with how toxic some people can be in the game.

Unfortunately I did run into a toxic individual. He of course told me to “kys” when I put a quote in chat. Normally I can laugh this stuff off, but instead I became no better than him. I responded in a negative way which of course he then was able to troll me further off of it. I stupidly fell for the rage bait and thats on me. I got off the game and took a break. Obviously I needed it.

Then it got me thinking about how I am sure there are a lot of people like me, or are in even more challenging situations than I am. There might be some people out there who are really having a rough go, and this could be the final straw for them. You never know the next time you tell someone to kill themselves might be the last time they ever log into this game. Maybe they listen, and you’d never know it because this is just a game to you, and you can just que up for your next match. But that person you told to kill themselves? Maybe they just did it.

If you have to troll people go ahead I guess. But can we quit telling people to kill themselves? You really never know what someone might be going through.

Don’t talk about them, report them.

No, of course. Just report them we’ll take care of it.

That’s a clear no go, considered a grave offense and will be punished, also in it’s abbreviated form “kys”.

As you said, we don’t know what the other person goes through: Todays “Social” Media (to which one can count a game chat to some extent) is harsh and cruel, and especially young people are often bombarded from such sentiments form various sides, and it’s sad when at one point, it becomes just one “joke” too much and a Life is ended.
