I know we can report, but that doesn’t fix the problem. Also, this is a discussion about ideas since someone will eventually suggest something. But it is better to start talking about it.
I had to climb over
Ten thousand one hundred and twenty-eight meters, about thirty-three thousand two hundred and twenty-eight feet high in the sky, just to even have a chance to kill the dumb bot.
Also, multiple of us had reported it. Cause this is just ridiculous. Also, just striking up a conversation so it eventually becomes a suggestion or Gaijin figures out a proper solution.
It doesn’t matter if the guys are stall climbing or just sit 25 minutes afk on their main airfield - in both cases they influence the outcome - just in different ways.
The afk climbers (depending on type) drag quite often more that one enemy above 10 km (which brings serious troubles for you regarding positioning when you are already outnumbered) and give you a false sense of security as they create the illusion that you are not the last player of your team. The only mitigating factor is that most of them kill their engines in this process and/or run out of fuel.
The afk guys sitting on the runway for 25 minutes create for you a disadvantageous positioning if you play 1 vs 2 as last players alive as the guy prevents for the last enemy the red square whilst you have one.
An example for a similar case like described in your OP:
I assumed that the last friendly (Bf 109 G-10) tried to outclimb a pair of squadded I-225s outside their spotting range (which is rather smart - i tried the same) - as both came in ultra-high (at least 7 km) . As he got marked by a blind hunt order i flew towards him and even outclimbed him (he was at 10,500 m) in this process. He crossed the map border and came then towards me - with a smoking engine. Then it was clear why he had not reacted to team chat - he was afk.
His smoke got worse and he descended then to around 8 km when the 2 I-225s then managed to get lower to kill a guy with a dead engine. I saw no no need to go low (Game was lost anyway and just a few minutes to go) and performed some high speed tests at 12,500 with the Ki-94 II (actually really fast at this alt - but besides that an absolute shitbrick at BR 6.0) when one of the I-225 decided to pitch up.
The result:
The solution is imho obvious: Activity timer after 5 minutes (press a random button within 60 seconds) or get kicked from the lobby. Ater the first 5 minutes 3 minute intervals.
Imho gaijin has not noticed that the afk guys earn SL with orders against them and most players have not noticed that these guys (when sitting on your own runway) deny you the 5,000 SL reward as last man standing if you manage to kill the last enemy as the game counts him as active.
On top of that: They get the 5,000 SL reward if you collide (or trade) with the last enemy alive…
