Camps for Abrams

Hello,

I recently started playing the M1A1 AIM tank and would like to hear your suggestions on the best places to camp on various maps in War Thunder. What defensive positions do you recommend to get the most out of this vehicle? I would be grateful if you could send a screenshot of the map with the point where this camp is marked.
Thank you in advance for any advice and tips.

thats the thing you dont… Its better to keep moving around, you can stay in the same area but you should always keep moving and never stay still, also try to have some cover so that you can go hull down

thank you

Yeah, he’s right. I generally will camp for a little bit then move because otherwise if the enemy has a “back-up” vehicle they’ll probably think you’re in the same spot.

if youre camping youre playing the game wrong. Even in assault tanks you got to keep mobile

Thanks, but I have another problem, which is that I can’t see enemy tanks in the distance, even though they’ve already seen me. It looks like there’s a tank in the city, for example, and you can spot it quickly, but I still can’t see it. Is it some kind of vision problem or can you practice it normally? And what would be better to buy? RDF/LT or M1A1 Cick-Bait, because for now I only have M1A1 AIM and AV-8B Plus for tank battles, but I usually get more points and I could use a tank.

The RDF/LT seems a little better than the M1A1 for me

RDF can get killed by a .50 to the side a, also the aim isn’t bad (I spaded it)

Do you know why I can’t see enemy tanks in the distance? I described the problem above.

device limitations with rendering probably might be able to fix it in graphics settings if you can access that

But does it work so that it doesn’t render tanks in the distance or only the map?

Definitely after a certain distance, they stop rendering but also now that I think about it it could also be caused by low keen vision (the skill) cause, which actually has an effect on rendering, I think the map is affected by the radio communications skill the radio operator has

So the radio operator points out enemy tanks?

no It affects how far away scouted enemies (or in arcade anyone) are shown on the minimap before they disappear, your crew will call out tanks if you look directly at them though (sometimes)

I see. So it depends on my eyesight anyway

more on in game skills but yea eyesight plays a large factor

In fact, RDF has a reconnaissance drone that would make it much easier for me to find and mark enemy tanks, so I won’t have to have ultra-good eyesight and experience to spot someone,
but is it possible to prevent it from flying away from my tank to the other end of the map when I’m not using it, or do I have to switch to it every now and then and turn the drone around?

theres an orbit option for drones

In general, RDF is suitable for small maps, or is it better to use it when there are large maps, because I often had small ones and it was difficult to move the M1A1 AIM without getting killed, but to do something in the battle?
