Cam someone explain why china has 4 t55s that are in under brs if we compare them with russian ones.
What’s the real reason for them be in a soo low br with apfsds and lazer range finder.
And why they are in a lower br than the t55 amd with era and a better cannon in the case of the ztz59d1 if the t55 froom 9.0 don’t even get close to have era.
because theyre actually just upgraded t54s, so kinda doodoo
as i said the type 59 is a T-54 so is on par with the russian one (though i see now that it does also get the vertical stabiliser)
the ztz59D1 doesnt have a two plane stabiliser (only vertical so it acts like the ones on ww2 tanks but at all speeds instead of just low speed)
type 69 only has 200mm pen with the dart
type 69-IIa doesnt get a dart
and the ERA isnt really that consequential on any of them
i assume that those were the 4 you were talking about at least
A better question might be “why is Russia missing it’s later T-54 models?” Both the T-54A (equivalent to T-59) and B base production models are missing, nevermind upgrades and modernizations (although the T-54AM is probably the only one really worth adding, the M upgrade brings it up to T-55 standard then the AM adds a new engine and a few other things)

Type 69 exists to lob HEATFS, the dart is an absolute stinker. Thanks to the LRF and improved turret handling I guess you could say that it is a better vehicle than T54s at the same BR, despite not getting the busted APHE shell.
The ERA does almost nothing, basic APDS just goes straight through and then usually penetrates the armor. 59D1 is just a T54 with a better gun.
