C1 Ariete AMV PT2

Absolutely yes! A real improvement over the existing Arietes and with the introduction of era VIII MBTs Italy need this.

I’m in favour of adding this vehicle, only if they increase armour to all Ariete, we all know Ariete has composite armour it was even specified by the developer, although he didn’t say the thickness because it’s a military secret through calculations on the weight of the tank we can deduce that it is very similar to a Challenger 2.

The community is tired of seeing a tank that weighs 60 tons of air, this in my opinion is above all a huge joke on the part of the developers, it weighs more than a Leopard 2A4 but has less armour something doesn’t add up in my opinion.

The base Ariete should have just a little less armor then the Leopard 2A4
Thus the 1 ton less weight, if everything I found is right, about 70% of that ton is extra armor, the rest being a heavier tank because of the layout of the ammo storage

But how it’s currently modeled, it looks like the Ariete is missing 2.5 tons of armor, not .75 vs the 2A4

But of course, western composite is just rubber after all, that’s why it’s so light 😂🤷🏻‍♂️

we need armor data of hull and turret because it needs some buff but also we need more tier 8

The addition of the variant with modified turret becomes more reasonable, because according to recent roadmap post (and answers on the poll), they are going to model more modules inside vehicles, which will surely make standard C1 Ariete variants even weaker, especially considering hydraulic drives.

How big are these modules?

As far as I know/understand, most of the hydraulic components are in the back of the turret.

Also, I don’t think Italy is on the top of Gaijin’s list to get detailed model (fortunately and unfortunately).

There is a cutaway, the first image under specifications spoiler in the main post. That yellow thing in the back of the turret looks like a pump or some other part of hydraulic system, though I’m not sure how accurate this cutaway is.

Yes, that is the part I was referring to.
There are also radiators which I believe are part of computer/electronic systems of the FCS.

So, the back of the turret of the Ariete does have quite a few essential modules (probably one of the reasons why a blow-out system can’t be added without re-designing the turret). But all tanks do have these systems either in the turret or in the hull.

Too many names without understanding the proper differences! +1

I do hope on the PT3 they don’t use this small composite armor piece above the track from the WAR kit and just use the PSO’s composite hull armor kit instead. Looks good otherwise 🤙

@DemoNik8770 already did the PT3 suggestion Ariete C2 (AMV PT3) here it is

If you look at the PSO kit on the AMV photos, you can actually see that the PSO appears to have been slightly redesigned so it overlaps that small WAR kit plate, so they dont have to choose one kit over the other.

Thats just a personal observation tho, not sure if its actually what they did, but if it is then that answers your question

would much rather this over the 2a7HU. if they dont add this they should atleast give the AMV pt1 the option to use both the PSO and WAR kit since thats like the only reason it existed… to carry both…

Would be rather pointless with the current state of WAR armor, killing the only feature of the AMV in the game (better mobility) and not changing anything about protection.
Although I agree that the option should be added, maybe one day they will fix Ariete tanks protection.

Italy really needs it, the top tier needs to be supplemented with new main battle tanks.

true but the armor kits look cool and thats all i care about. ive also had the war kit save me from quite alot of 105 calibre rounds so i dont see why it cant just be added in regardless. people can take it off if they dont want it.
