My situation is I play WT on PC (downloaded through STEAM) main account, with unlocks and hours of play.
I go to the Microsoft store for the vehicle sales. Downloaded the Microsoft store version of WT. Have both installed on same PC. WT running through Microsoft store assumes I’m on an old Xbox account with barely any progress and no purchases.
Can’t buy anything on the Microsoft store including the SALE event ending in a few days because the vehicles will go to my dead console Xbox account and not my Main WT account I started on steam… Gaijin website has both my accounts… Can’t find anywhere how to select which account vehicle purchases go to…
Don’t want to risk money thrown and lost in the store ether and not using the vehicle. Don’t want to link the accounts, don’t want to delete one of them… Any suggestions??? Thank you and excuse the typos
Ok, first it is against the rules to create multiple accounts, so, I would strongly recommend NOT trying to use both, etc:
Second, your main account is NOT an Xbox/Live/Microsoft account. You will not be able to use or apply War Thunder items purchased from the Microsoft store, even IF you were able to “direct” the purchase to your main/PC/Steam Account.
So, my advice is to NOT attempt to purchase anything from the Microsoft Store (because your account is a “normal” War Thunder/Steam PC account):
oh crap. then I’m deleting my old Xbox one… I didn’t create a second account for having one, I downloaded war thunder on steam and stuck with it. Never got into WT on console due to my old console set up… so, go to Gajin website and delete the account that’s Xbox linked should fix any dual account conflicts with my main? And assuming I cant take advantage of the Microsoft sale??? ;(

OK I am NOT a forum mod, nor do I work for Gaijin in any capacity, so do not take my message as “the law” ect. However, I do not think it is necessary nor advisable to delete it. It is already there, probably best advice is to just NOT play on it.
If you are having issues OUTSIDE of trying to purchase items from the Microsoft Store, I think you would need to open a support ticket (not here on the forums, the support/help links in game and/or on the Gaijin official website.)
HOWEVER, you will NOT be able to purchase items from the Microsoft store even if you did delete the account. Again, I do not think it is necessary nor advisable to try and delete it, nor do I think you need to or even should make a support ticket about it.
Correct you can NOT take advantage of the Microsoft store sale.
Well, it isn’t wrong about “On PC” HOWEVER, it is only IF you are playing on PC WITH an Xbox/Live/Microsoft account. The wording could be better, the information could be better, I agree.
its a dead account so im thinking now after a few minutes if I dont use it i dont have to delete it… Dont own a console but might in the future… Just want to keep my steam WT account that has the progressm and unlocks. maybe delete all the xbox crap on my pc
I tried that before, it causes ALL SORTS of issues with Windows, even if you don’t play Xbox games or use the Microsoft store. Just leave it alone 😂
If you REALLY want, I would ONLY suggest turning that stuff off from autostart, but even then, it caused me all sorts of random issues. I just leave all that Xbox stuff alone now on windows.
i think were in agreement. Thank you for your time and help… ok no rush… havent deleted my xbox stuff i dont use… didnt even have the microsoft store app before i heard about the August Microsoft store sale.

Xbox/PS store is for actual console accounts like mine. Like how I have @live as a suffix to my name.
So when I buy premium packs, I do it through the Microsoft store with my Xbox’s email and login etc. And I have to open the game on the Microsoft store to actually redeem them;
then I can launch through Steam and it’ll be there.
As far as I’m aware, through the Microsoft Store, you can only play with a Microsoft account.
So just play through Steam and buy through Steam with a PC/Gaijin account and that’s it I think.

Never had an issue in game when purchasing from steam nor direct from Gaijin website… but news on social media about the Microsoft store %50 SALE led me here…
Also saved me from buying a premium and not seeing in game.
If I ever buy a console in the future and cant use my steam account, then WT is not for console play in my house lol Cheers
If it wasn’t for YT, I probably wouldn’t be on WT, not blaming anyone, was just asking before I buy. Had a me flashback of last Summer Sale, got nice plane on discount I couldn’t use for a specific reason/role in game. So thought to ask here and helped…
