Currently in game bushes used for customization are meant to be destructible after impact of incoming fire. This change was made due to community feedback on the perceived unfairness by attachable cosmetics blocking weak points. This is not limited to bushes as the change was made so that all place able customization could be destroyed or “knocked off” by incoming fire, thus revealing the weak spot.
Despite this change being implemented by Gaijin the reality ingame does not represent the intended change. Bush hitboxes do not cover the entire bush, rather just the contact point where they are placed. This already causes issues allowing you to have bushes floating in air going against basic physics and gravity. It has the side effect of also making bushes near unable to be destroyed by incoming fire leading to frustrating point blank engagements where shots are traded repeatedly but no effect of the incoming shells is visible.
The hitboxes for bushes must be redone to represent their actual model to avoid accusations of bias in favor of paid cosmetics.
Honestly in all fairness. The hitboxes of bushes are quite small compared to their visual size. To shoot them off/remove them requires you to make perfect shots on the center mass of the bush, when it can be hard to tell where that is.
The hitboxes should be enlarged to encompass the entirety of the bush or at least the majority of it.
Turret. Easy auto loader removal and potential breech/barrel removal. Not to mention potential ammo destruction and blowout panel destruction leading to a kill.
For commander sight shoot around the breech. Gunner side center mass will usually do the trick ammo wise, and also a second or so to reverse depending on your position given the commander override time.
I’m not against bushes getting nerfed ofc, just saying a Type 10 might not be the best example compared to something like the Leo 2A7V, as that things a glass cannon.
Long bushes may be able to distort that he’s, but I’d never shoot around the edge (mainly as the side of the turret as well as the edge of the bush is there). I usually shoot for the most center mass shot available, which would be a little bit above your crosshair and maybe even a bit more to the right than that.
I also very much agree with this, as I said so in the 5th comment of the thread. The hitboxes are extremely small compared to the visual size of the bush, which is definitely an issue.
Hahahaha. Fire a machine gun at a tree , NOT from point blank, but from a minimum of 50 meters away, like when you start shooting at tanks, you will NOT obliterate the tree, stop being silly. Now a .50 cal would do damage, but just a machine gun, stop making yourself look silly. You seem like you are one of those bush HATERS and want them gone, as easy as possible. You will want to be able to shoot them off at 50m with a 9mm Glock or 1911 next with your next forum whinge.
Even in REAL LIFE, you don’t think soldiers just REST the bushes on thier tanks do you??? You do know they tie and strap them on so when they go over 10mph, they don’t blow off with the wind. If bushes are straped on properly, you WON’T shoot them off with a poxy machine gun, you’ll maybe trim them down, but with out hitting and breaking the straps, you will never totally get rid of them. Silly boy. If you want the bushes gone, then try to shoot them off with something bigger than just a machine gun. How about trying to use the “big barrelled pointy thing poking out of the top of your turrett”.
