played bullet hell, and it SUCKS.
first off, when u come back to the “airfield” (if that random part of the map where u can rearm can be even called “airfield”) doesn’t instantly give u ammo, which means u need to wait valuable seconds to rearm while an enemy can be rushing to ur airfield while u’re defenseless without ammo. it also doesn’t repair ur plane, which means if u’re badly damaged but still flying, u’re forced to leave ur current plane, which is sad and annoying since sometimes it’s hard to come back to the airfield while severely damaged. also u can’t refuel if ur plane has a fuel leak (i was playing with Su-27SM, an enemy destroyed my fuel tank and when i returned to base i couldn’t refuel for the obvious reason that i can’t repair the leak, which means u can’t refuel).
second, the BR is EXTREMELY unbalanced: i have seen MiG-15bis against Rafales and even my own Su-30SM2, which is unfair not just for toptier players who can abuse of this “ez kills”, but also for the poor 8.3 players that need to face such modern aircrafts with better technology, speed, maneuverability and survivability (killing a Flanker is hard).
third, the gamemode is full of third-partyers! it’s impossible to have a 1v1 with an enemy since there’s always somebody free to come and annoy u one tapping ur aircraft while u’re stalling and trying to win a duel. i know the event is literally a 6/8 vs. 6/8, which means that this is actually legal, but i don’t feel it’s fair for anyone to be forced to watch 4 different enemies and dodge all their bullets while trying to get 1 kill.
fourth, rewards are by no reason worse than public ARB rewards. idk if it’s for a balance reason, but since it’s a bit hard to kill enemies using just ur cannon, i feel the rewards should be a bit better.
fifth and sadly this cannot be “fixed” in any way, Bullet Hell is mainly for dogfighters (F-16/18/Rafale/EFT/Gripen/etc), and it’s annoying or even unfair to face planes like these while flying an air superiority aircraft (Flankers, Eagles).
Good to see this mode back, however:
IMO this is a bad change, just let people spawn what ever they want 3 times for SL, this is for 3 reasons:
A) a lot of ARB only crew one plane slot so even if they pay to crew another they will have zero crew skills for the event.
B) nobody has 3 14.7 planes although the guns only mode dose level the playing field for lower BR planes
C) you lock out premium planes for players that are only part way through a TT (although some might argue this is a positive)
These factors combine to increase the number of players that leave early, or just stops people from joining altogether, which negatively impacts the mode for everybody.
The old spawn system was better. But that’s just my 2 cents.

You can only use 1 backup on a vehicle - to have 3 spawns you need 2 or more vehicles
This is what happens from the change they did where you need at least 2 crews/planes to get in the event.
The majority of us playing air RB probably have 1 good crew with all the planes there. That means if you want to use 1 plane , you’ll put the cheapest possible solution (an 8.3 ) just to get in the match.
Some people say it’s better because they gatekeep 1 premium plane new players out of the event , but that’s only correct for very new players, like a day or 2 new players.
Someone with premium account and plane can easily have t5/6 8.3 in a week and let’s not mention how many people may have event vehicles as well .This i know , because for example in Sweden who i’ve played only props i have J35XS and the event F-5A, without really grinding any jets… my crews are pitiful though, if i want to play them i will just better from a very new player experience wise… but the crews of level 20 and 1 and no expertise won’t let me play as i can…slight turn is g-lock and semi uncontrolable plane in a jet . So while it filters new players , it doesn’t in the extend people believe it does.
In general , it was a very bad change.
Also, god forbid if you had in mind play new things or many vehicles. If i want to play various BRs and nations (why not) , no i’ll need to put an extra plane everywhere and this , especially in higher ranks it can be huge SL sink. No one will do it just for the event.
And i feel the change it was more driven to just slow you down grinding mods in new planes if anything , than actually filter or help the players.
For example, I played F-4F stock .It’s different to pull 2-3 kills in 2 runs with it, than 3-5 you could in the previous set up. Also the same goes for if you grind the same plane in line , where you lose the bonus, or even you get a penalty if the 3 plane you use is lower enough tier (aka if you use t6 to grind t8 , previously you could play 3 times your t7 of your choice) .
And ofc the back up is good if somene has enough back ups to sustain playing with back ups in the event.
Else you have 3 choices…pay a million or so to crew a t7 for example , just crew an 8.3 pair it it with whatever else you play in order to not start spending millions here and there and use it to die not to get crew locked, or play 2DL intentionally with no back up instead of 1DL.
It was very bad change and very driven if you ask me…

The ^ we^ is in the previous sentence… because most people playing ARB use one good crew, they don’t spread the planes usually. And even that we doesn’t really include me in all nations.
In US/USSR/JAP/GB i have multiple ^good^ crews because i played AB as well.
But if i want to play IL for example is a no go with 1 good crew and the others 1lvl.
So… i think you missed the target or just wanted to throw an insult (?).

Don’t expect everyone start pulling million SLs or GEs to make crews and planes only for the event.

i just spent 310k to crew my Su-27SM in a lvl 40 crew just for the eventT-T
I mean I’m not part of those people but how is it short-sighted to max one crew when you play exclusively a mode where you can only use one crew?
It makes sense to me, how were they supposed to know that Gaijin would give them an event that requires several slots

Because gaijin wants to balance out the earnings people get from this gamemode. They make you spend backups and SL to crew vehicles lmao

They 100% play it a lot its just that they have developer accounts where none of these things are issues. They have hundreds of millions of SL and GE and every vehicle unlocked
