Buk-M3 Radar Logic Seems Off

In the new Buk-M3, when the radar vehicle is active and scanning, the TELARs can’t lock onto other targets, they seem limited or “slaved” to whatever the radar vehicle is tracking. However, if I turn off the radar vehicle’s scan, the TELARs can lock on targets independently.

Is this intentional or a gameplay limitation? In reality, each Buk-M3 TELAR has its own radar and can only LOCK on targets autonomously even when the battery radar is active, so I’m wondering if this is just a simplification for game mechanics or a bug in the current implementation.

I hope they streamline the radar a bit, because it does not feel finalised, I struggle to maintain situational awareness it the BUK due to how finicky the radar feels, in order to truly balance CAS, SAMs need to be made more user friendly, mainly in the field of radar controls

Intentional.
In game, the TELAR radar scan is actually it’s track, it needs to be tracking something (or in case of Buk, they gave it ability to turn it on either way). TADS takes priority over TELAR, and TELAR will try to lock whatever the TADS is pointing at, and for that, it has a smaller search zone meant to aquire designated target. So if it can’t lock it, it will not enter track mode, but will stay in aquire mode untill it can, or the designated target is lost/changed.

And Buk IRL also has said designation mode.
