IFF system of radar is based on the international relationship in real life, instead of ingame relationship.
My MiG-21 once identified an allied french or american as enemy, and i paid for their repair cost. And I was hit by a friendly aim120 from German typhoon, and i didnt notice it cuz i turn of my rwr respond when allies r illuminating.
IFF on older radars can be a bit finicky at times.
AIM-120 (and basically every Fox-3) are highly susceptible to switching targets if you’re close to its original target OR to the radar’s POV, you have the larger radar return for whatever reason (original target died, you’re closer to the missile than they are, etc)
