Bug reports for classified equipment or weapons

The game has been adding more new weapons and vehicles with equipment whose characteristics are classified. For example, the radar of the Rafale fighter jet. When we look at it in the game, its characteristics appear worse than many radars from the previous generation, even though it’s a relatively modern radar that entered service in 2012.

For instance, in this ticket - Community Bug Reporting System, the scanning speed is compared to the radar of the Su-34. This isn’t the only ticket where we see a rather unusual response for such cases:

What is appropriate source material for historical issues?

  • OEM Manuals (primary source): User manuals, repair manuals, factory manuals, operating manuals, technical manuals etc. Single source is required (preferred source).
  • Authored works (secondary source): Reference books on collections of vehicles/aircraft/ships (‘coffee table books’), biographies, specialist books, “expert” opinion publications, industry magazines etc. At least two unrelated sources required.

So, instead of explaining to players why you decided that this equipment has such characteristics, are you sending them to obtain classified documents?

This issue needs to be addressed. Players should understand why this equipment has these specific characteristics (similar to how you explained how shell penetration is calculated, which resolved players’ questions on that topic).

Gaijin is not and has never sent people to obtain classified documents.

You can take photographs of equipment, you can cut open equipment you own and take photographs that way.

So stop with the false claims.
