Buffing of large caliber HEAT/HESH?

There was a time in 2018 where Object 120 with its giganatic HEAT rounds, would not only act as HEAT but also as HE where it would not only produce the HEAT jet penetrating the tank, but also destroy tracks, barrel, etc.

Lots of these tanks are simply disadvantaged against lower/similarly tiered artillery tanks, in which they provide little to no advantages against.

For HESH i don’t need to say more.

I tried to address the topic with a brief explanation of how HESH ammunition would work in real life and how it should work in-game, since under proper conditions and if it were actually functioning as intended it wouldn’t just destroy a single track or simply cause a HIT on the enemy vehicle.

If you’d like to contribute to my topic about HESH shells by adding more information or even mentioning points I didn’t cover, it would be a great help!

HEAT already dose have a HE effect to a degree, although it was reduced a while back. the issue is that HEAT is a “hollow charge” and therefore has a fair amount of the space that would be filled with explosives replaced with the metal liner that forms the penetrator and empty space for it to form.

Additionally the shape of the explosives in a HEAT shell focus the blast wave forward so the explosion is more focused than a normal HE shell.
The result is that while you can over pressure a tank with HEAT you have less margin of error due to the smaller more focused charge.
Notice how the Obj-120 still takes out the Abrams driver with the HEAT-FS overpressure, while the HE takes out the whole crew
