gaijin, despite denying literally any report that doesn’t feature real life sources, does not actually care about realism given that majority of the game’s content is nowhere near realistic.
there’d be no issue taking creative liberty and giving us unrealistically low propellant loads.
311 and 310m/s can be the absolute minimum velocity for the HE shells for the M109s

damn, subsonic? kinda wild, didn’t expect charges to go that low

if they don’t care about realism then the unrealistic use of SPHs as direct fire units in-game isn’t an issue
SPH units can be used in direct fire in emergencies so it isn’t that unrealistic

oh nice! ill have to look at travel times and stuff later but this is great

artillery units can direct fire and it’s something armies specifically train their soldiers to be able to do whether it be field artillery or an SPH
With the absolute minimum launch explosives and max elevation you get 2-3km of minimum range, it will then also take the round approximately 2 minutes before it lands. you will miss 95% of the maps in War Thunder and not hit anything because practically nothing stands still for 2 minutes straight.
The goal isn’t to actually fire at high elevation, it just has to be slow enough to be arced over small buildings
Which you can’t really do either, even with the slowest charges it won’t drop enough for that to be effective in matches really.
Considering most buildings/terrain height in the maps where this is actually viable is ~10-15m, it is enough
ohhhh so min range of ~2,250m with a ~38s travel time? you saved me having to look up suvat again haha

~750m at ~2.5s
Chart gives it a ~-500 target elevation
ah, I’d assumed the first two wouldn’t arc high enough to get over cover

RNG!! thats it! You will either die or you won’t! for the game to decide.! Ive put arty on open top tanks and the arty l;ands no where near, or does NO damage or just doesnt even bother to land.!
Sooooo, best used as a distraction rather than actual.!
It should, you can just try using the 3OF70 on the BMP-3/BMD-4 which has almost the same velocity

If you assume absolute perfect conditions with only one house between you and the opponent and it’s in the middle between you where the arc is highest. So lets say the house is 10m tall and the exit velocity is 300m/s , then maybe it could work as the round would fly about 900-1000m minimum in those conditions. but honestly at that point those situations will be so rare that it’s not going to be something that happens often. If the house is any closer to you or the enemy then that minimum range increases.
