I think at 11.7 it would at least avoid fighting 13.0 helicopters. Those 13.0‑tier helis are equipped with DIRCM and plenty of fire‑and‑forget missiles; engaging them is extremely difficult. Also, with 20 LMM rounds, firing several in quick succession to saturate enemy radar and take out those 12.7 mm SPAA should work pretty well. Of course, this is just my personal opinion.
Do you know if there are plans to purchase it yet? Or are we just speculating on the basis it’s also a Leonardo system?
The RAF has been operating it for a few years already, but I don’t know it the navy specifically has plans to buy it.
The LMM does feature different warheads and charge types, yet all variants come with a laser proximity fuze. Its 8 km range is actually decent. It flies faster than the Hellfire, though its yield is somewhat low. Besides, I am not a big fan of the Hellfire’s flight trajectory.
NLOS Mk.5 are ~32km range, iirc the PARS is closer to 7km? at least for lock range (which wont be an issue for NLOS with MITL)
From my research it seems we fit DIRCM on transports mainly. Merlin/Chinook and fixed wing transports/recon aircraft.
Trying to pick off enemy vehicles from the second helicopter airfield sounds decent, but you move too slow and get intercepted easily. It’s quite a laid‑back playstyle though
well they just nuked the MITL
Then it would’ve been better not to give it this missile and leave it at BR 11.7.

honestly seeing as they’ve confirmed the sea venom i think the could have gotten away with that and martlet, and the limited no. of sea venoms would let it sit (quite a bit) lower than other IIR helis. like, 4x iir mach 0.85 missiles isn’t that bad
I don’t think they will lower the BR. Since the AW159 has fire‑and‑forget missiles, it will land at 12.7 BR for that alone.
Doesn’t look as cool as the wildcat imo.
Smin has confirmed that, for now at least, we will not be seeing any more APHE additions for Britain (eg. 57mm APHE for the 6 pounder).
This is quite a shame, but at least we got 75mm APHE i guess.
APHE making such a difference for balance and we can’t see this as clear evidence its overperforming and should be fixed lul

That would make them far more solid gunfighters.
