They designed the event around a modern nuclear-war combat scenario, which is why they set the battle rating range from 13.0 up to 14.7. However, they completely overlooked aircraft like the Tornado GR.4. They might patch this later, but I highly doubt they will.
But this approach is crude and lazy, and barely requires any extra work on their end—this way they can push out more premium bundles.
This is in fact a real change the daft souls implemented.
Which further reinforces this was specifically for ground, but implemented so badly you shouldn’t bother deploying them in ground games due to how cluttered the map is with emissions. ARMs have next to no use in any mode, feels like we were given them to get people to shut up instead of because the devs considered how to implement them reasonably.
they’ll leave it in a poor state and use negative feedback as an excuse to axe it rather than spend time and money developing it
Midfield search radars on the one map that has them also do not get picked up by ARMs. No matter how close you get to it.
Apparenty there was a upgraded perkins engine at tankfest this year that was modified by CAT to produce 1500BHP
The capability of the CV12 to do 1500 HP was never in question. It’s if the MoD opted to get the addition cooling needed to run the engine at 1500HP
Its looking like the challenger 3 will also be stuck with 1200hp as on the sign it says the cooling has been upgraded for FUTURE upgrades to 1350 and 1500hp if required.
it would be good if it was very explicit about being 1500hp as its stamped as a CV-12 9A
The ZSUs? I got them to lock with the ALARMs a couple days ago, weird…
Search radars, not SPAA. One map has them at the rearward side of the map, alongside actually interesting midmap targets. The one with the VADS in it cannot be targeted, and the other only can be targeted because of the Shilka.
Ahhh, those ones, yeah, I had no luck with those either.
Was nice to pop 2 AA for free though
They’ve fixed the Churchill Crocodile’s trailer killing it when hit, thankfully
How do you know it can run at 1500hp?
I know it’s a CV12-9A, but the evidence of 1500hp is limited
Some details about it from AviationWeek who went to look at the demonstrator being built
Apparently 33% larger than Typhoon, making it the largest airframe built in the UK since Nimrod and it’s still scaled smaller than Tempest will be. The vertical stabs are bigger than Tornado’s and has a weapons bay twice the size of F-35.
BAE also confirmed they intend to use the demonstrator for weapon launch validation trials from the bay, so it could be a valid addition to War Thunder unlike EAP.
Yeah, yeah, yeah - whatever.
Can it SUpErCRuISE?
Does it have SEnSoR FuSiOn?
…damn I forgot the other USMainMuppet cliches… erm hang on…actually I can’t be bothered to look back at their crayoning.
well the 6A could run at 1500hp to technically right? it was just the cooling systems which the 9A upgraded so i would expect it to
The base engine could, but just because they improved the cooling doesn’t necessarily mean the 9A can run at 1500 in it’s current congif
The plan seems to be that the 9A has the potential to run at 1500hp if needed for growth, but currently that remains just a potential
This doesn’t mean the CR3 is slower than the CR2, despite making around the same HP the overall powerpack is more efficient and the suspension is better, giving the vehicle more available power to the drive sprockets and losing less speed over terrain
The datasheet that Flame photographed stated that the CR3 specifically has improved low speed performance/handling, which is probably from the new torque convertor. That’s the main issue it has in War Thunder, but I doubt they’ll bother modelling the improvements
i mean it definitely COULD run 1500hp its just weather it will or not with the increase in weight from the cr2 to cr3 being 62T - 66T without any armour packages i would expect some form of power increase maybe to like 1350?
CR2 combat weight is 64t so its not quite as severe of an increase as that
