Now we wait for the 25mm ADEN’s, CRV7’s, and Shrike.
Ey that’s something, will make night battles a lot easier than flying blind.
A bug about Firestreak and Red Top beeing too slow in russian that got acknowlaged
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/ZLVlCrMx7DkX
that’s a start. if amenddd, it’ll give it a bit more range. what we really need is the drag to be adjusted so it doesnt immediately die the moment the motor burns out
Well, i would love to help with that, but i have never seen any source about these missiles, and im currently occupied with Challengers on the dev
I have. trouble is they got rejected by a certain somebody if memory serves…
Understandable. Well… Im not sure what to say to it. I guess it will have to wait a little
its not gatekeeping though /s
what was the actual reason it got rejected though? iirc it was about the launch aircraft speed being unknown right?
The answer is i don’t actually know.
I could very well be mixing up one on SRAAM and Red Top reports, I do know one of them had a rocket motor one rejected… for some reason. not sure why, the only feasible one is gaijin has primary docs we don’t. If that’s the case, they’ve never said
they fixed paveway ii laser seeker range
Did it used to be too high then?
Seems like it? Im no paveway guy but that seems like a nerf to me??? So 3657 is the max range the bomb will track, over that it will what, explode?
maybe, current laser-guided bomb can glide like cruise missile.
Paveways 2 do not have any engine. They will try their best to get to the target, but they do not have energy to glide like that. that means that over 3657m the bomb will not track and explode mid air or ignore the tracing and act as a dumb bomb
That’s not how Paveways work. They don’t explode if they cannot see the laze.
This means you need to use CCIP to get the bomb within 3.7KM of the target. Then it should be nose down and able to see the target.
It would be nice if CCRP was more automated. Toss bombing with a GBU would be easier if it was connected to the FCS.
True, you can kinda do it if you use the CCIP marker and you’re good with the camera haha.
CCRP from my experience is not implemented properly. The original LABS dropped the bomb automatically without the need for the pilot to do anything. I think that should be implemented along with the capacity to drop bombs outside of CCRP mode. It’s annoying trying to drop a bomb to lose weight in a dogfight and you can’t because the CCRP won’t let you.
TL;DR CCRP should automatically drop the selected amount of bombs when it crosses the threshold and also allow you to drop bombs whenever.
Yeah the Tornado came with some really impressive pre-planned attack automation with targets of opportunity being easily queued up. Leads me to one of my favourite illustrations from the GR1 manuals.
Sure that isnt a map to a Tornado Theme park?
