the thing that gets me is RARDEN was only rated for 3,750 shots [1] so practically speaking it’s about the same, i.e. you swap it during regular maintenance cycles if required, rather than during total overhaul.

They’ve repeatedly posted what I can only describe as ragebait. And just runs away… “Fun”. I spent ages typing out a researched and sourced response in the CR3 thread and they never responded:/

[1] “Each Rarden cannon barrel is changed after 3,750 effective full charges have been fired.” - https://hansard.parliament.uk/Commons/2006-07-10/debates/06071035000041/RardenCannon

Hmm, would have been nice to have something to pair with the incoming Hawk 200s. Though Id prefer our CT40 patria, just for the Jav,

Oh, considering we’re adopting patria 6x6 to supplement our boxers I wonder if they’ll stick a CT40 turret on them for that request

Does anyone know whether AH MK.2(uk ah64e)is able to use LLM missile?

Have anyone tested the AJ.168s in this dev? If its approach logic have been changed to something more like the kh59s

Which can’t fire the DU round I remember? They’re designing a new round for the CR3 gun because they don’t like the NATO tungsten ones, but I don’t know if the new rounds will be DU or not.

That’s UK-Japan-Italy

afaik the UK signed an agreement to jointly develop a round that Germany had already started work on? 2020Neo / EKE /DM83 im pretty sure. we just slapped “CR3” on the end of the gun’s name, I’m not sure if there are actually any differences

So no depleted uranium. Sad

Sea Eagle is on dev now and it has IR guidance apparently? 3 of them on the Hawk, not sure about other aircraft

is the spear rack found in the files the "universal* typhoon rack? was trying to find photos of typhoons with twin paveway mounts but not much luck

The game uses the SPEAR launcher which is almost identical to the L3Harris twin rack in appearance. You won’t find many photos as it’s a prototype launcher iirc not a full production system.

for all sense and purposes, that was politcal promotion.
In all honestly it was completly rheinmetall developed. they were already in the last steps when it all happend

jup, in real active use, that will be a massive hindrance

I mean yeah, like i said we slapped “CR3” in the gun’s name, when Rhm had a better LEP proposal BAe basically withdrew Black Night and then the RBSL joint venture was formed

It should be noted that this data most likely dates back from CTC40’s debuts

One guy got the info from CTAI at Eurosatory and it is apparently 900-10000 shots depending on the ammo you fire. 900 if you fire only APFSDS, 10000 if you fire only HE (and its derivatives) or normal AP

For comparison, the bofors mk4 naval gun (and therefore mainly using HE and derivative shells), is rated for 5000 rounds, so CTC40 does not seem out of place in this regard compared to other guns of the same caliber

Can they smack tanks?

Haven’t been able to test but they have a 2.5km lock range, its possible the IR mode is placeholder though

They look very placeholder. They are currently a copy-paste of the AGM-119A Penguin with the following changes:

  • 3D model changed
  • Diameter changed
  • Length Changed
  • Mass changed
  • Explosive mass / type changed

Everything else (seeker, motor, etc.) is identical
