So let’s see, a bunch of tweets which may or may not be true : the guys in your tweet don’t even seem to agree with one an other, is it 500-700, or 2000 ? Doesn’t bold too well already X)
Other than that no mentions of excessive barrel wear, be it in France (Jaguar + mass adoption as CWIS on ships) or in the UK (afaik the last issue concerned the gun integration on a turret with lockheed)
Germany screwing its partners on projects of course never happens, except when it blocks EF exports for the brits, or when Rheinmetall threatens a hostile takeover bid if KNDS goes on the stock exchange…
Oh no wait, when it goes this way you call it cooperation ?
You shared it here because these tweets with no source to back them in an appropriate french thread would have been received as they should have : disregard at best, proper and meticulous debunk at worst.
Same as the SAMP/T not working in ukraine (a bug that lasted 2 weeks because the battery was made with french and italian components) that you somehow turned into the system being inoperable for years, your regular sorties on Ascalon 140, and your refusal to see the SHARD shell on Leclerc while you want DM73 and 83 on leos all day long, based on the fact that the shell is “for export only” which is false, you have been proven wrong non earlier than this morning
Surely i’m not the only one who sees a pattern, but i digress
Back on topic it’s a shame the brits did not receive the CTA with the Ajax at the same time as Jaguar, an other missed opportunity by Gaijin
the thing that gets me is RARDEN was only rated for 3,750 shots [1] so practically speaking it’s about the same, i.e. you swap it during regular maintenance cycles if required, rather than during total overhaul.
They’ve repeatedly posted what I can only describe as ragebait. And just runs away… “Fun”. I spent ages typing out a researched and sourced response in the CR3 thread and they never responded:/
Which can’t fire the DU round I remember? They’re designing a new round for the CR3 gun because they don’t like the NATO tungsten ones, but I don’t know if the new rounds will be DU or not.
afaik the UK signed an agreement to jointly develop a round that Germany had already started work on? 2020Neo / EKE /DM83 im pretty sure. we just slapped “CR3” on the end of the gun’s name, I’m not sure if there are actually any differences
The game uses the SPEAR launcher which is almost identical to the L3Harris twin rack in appearance. You won’t find many photos as it’s a prototype launcher iirc not a full production system.
for all sense and purposes, that was politcal promotion.
In all honestly it was completly rheinmetall developed. they were already in the last steps when it all happend
I mean yeah, like i said we slapped “CR3” in the gun’s name, when Rhm had a better LEP proposal BAe basically withdrew Black Night and then the RBSL joint venture was formed
It should be noted that this data most likely dates back from CTC40’s debuts
One guy got the info from CTAI at Eurosatory and it is apparently 900-10000 shots depending on the ammo you fire. 900 if you fire only APFSDS, 10000 if you fire only HE (and its derivatives) or normal AP
For comparison, the bofors mk4 naval gun (and therefore mainly using HE and derivative shells), is rated for 5000 rounds, so CTC40 does not seem out of place in this regard compared to other guns of the same caliber
