Im enjoying the Scimitar, however, am I the only one who thinks it kind of drives really badly?
The neutral steering barely works, it oversteers a ton and you lose all your speed when you turn. Its quite fast in a straight line which is nice, but could be better.
It also seems to love crashing into small obstacles, something the Striker also does
Yuuup. Imo it really doesn’t want to get moving, dispite having 24-25/hpt. Pretty sure its the gear ratios or something.
As for crashing into things, it feels like the collision model for the mudflaps are bigger than they need to be, but that’s just the vibes I’m getting.
Also just noticed when gaijin “fixed suspension and tyres” to the correct tank ones, they stole the modules from me i had unlocked… I wondered why I was bouncing again today.
You can clearly see on the left where its got 1/2 modules needed because they took it from me lmao.
But yeah, sad to say Scimitar is just… not doing it for me in live, it really isnt. I would not be surprised if it got a BR reduction in the near future.
edit: also the revving seems to stop if you go into reverse gear, idk why.
Eh, I’ve been having a good time on the larger maps, (I’ve already gotten a nuke in it), however it just doesn’t have the mobility of the fox to make it work on city maps
It doesnt even have the mobility of multiple other tracked light tanks with worse power to weight ratios I am finding too, which is interesting.
I hope its just bugs but, yeah, its mobility is lacking hard for the smaller maps. Big maps I agree it tends to do okay because you can roam a bit to flank but the time it takes to get moving and have a good speed kills the tank on smaller maps.
It was like this on the dev and carried over to the live. There is no reason to use it over the fox if you have the fox given they are the same BR and the fox is notably superior.
The GR4 with 20km IR PGMs is the only real addition for the UK tree this patch.
