Britain… Get a new vehicle in a finished state…

I expect that with the Challies or British high tier stuff in general, but not something like a Scimitar. Even that was too much faith it seems.

The closest vehicle in the british tree in power to weight ratio is the VFM5, if you gate the VFM the same power to weight it would only lose 80HP its that close, its also 11 tons heavier yet its faster (I have literally not found a map I can get to the scimitars alleged top speed) over all terrain, handles better in corners and doesn’t lose all of its speed on a pebble. even before we talk about the armour holes (gunner and commander can be killed by 7.62 frontally and the whole tank cant stop rifle rounds side on) it is very unfinished, I don’t think gaijin could have made it worse if they tried

We cant expect good treatment after the fox incident, we showed a fraction of our power and it was too much

Im surprised the scimitar appeared so soon after the fox

does seem like it ought to have been the other way around in order of addition, introducing us to (what should have been) a fast agile small gunned scout vehicle before giving us an even faster small gunned scout vehicle to avoid the skill issue incident that every BR from 6.7 to 11.7 felt.
would have been cooler to see scorpion added as a low tier HESH slinger as well

I really need to get round to that Emirati Scorpion suggestion I’ve been researching for, a British Army Scorpion would be like 4.0 or something given the 80mm of pen on the HESH and comically low velocity, for a so called direct fire gun. where as an Emirati Scorpion is pretty much identical to a later British one execpt for the replacement of the day sight with a TLS from the Chieftain, thus be much more suited to an era appropriate BR (6.7 or so).
Unfortunately not a massive amount of information.

is the jaguar gr.1 supposed to detect launches from an OSA? i remember it could detect tunguska launches but it doesn’t seem to work on the osa

@Morvran sorry to ping but how is the tornado Gr4 in sim?

The Scimitar isn’t the only one, Fox has this issue too.

Hmmm, gee, I wonder, out of the literal manufacture’s brochure or some random bloke, what would I use as a reliable, accurate source?

Apparently this question is too difficult for Gaijin to answer.

I’m surprised its taken this long to add a CVR(T)

got the link for it?

No as its an internal report. Here are all the reports we have for Phimat;

[tornado_f3][tornado_adv][tornado_f3_late] Missing Phimat Chaff pod on wing pylons
[tornado_f3_late][tornado_f3][tornado_adv] Missing Phimat Chaff Pod
[harrier_gr7] Missing Phimat Chaff pod
[buccaneer_s2b] Missing Phimat Chaff Pod

Fine.

Nothing to write home about, but the FLIR is a great tool. Not been able to play it the last 2 days whilst it’s been at 13.0 and CBA to evade the AMRAAM slingers in it.

ah, had a feeling that might be the case, how are the brimstones in sim?

Not unlocked them yet. But probably won’t use them often. Not a.lot of reason to do so. ePaveways and PGMs are just more effective

Idk if you want a low tier HESH slinger, HESH is still in a state of almost always a waste of time. And probably show not much sign of changing because with the new update ammunition stat cards have a new item added.
“Armor penetration by high-energy action”
This means how much penetration you have with raw HE power. It does highlight how useless HESH is of course because these numbers are not indicative of how useless your rounds are as HE weapons at all. To illustrate:

The Ammunition details between 155mm M1 and 165mm L33A1. Note the nearly double amount of HE included in L33A1 and that L33A1 does allegedly have a greater amount of penetration “by high energy action”

The issue: This penetration does not kick in unless you’re really really up against the plate, whereas any other HE type can overpressure via HE from a serious distance.

Spoiler

155mm M1 overpressure killing via HE hitting the roof at a serious distance:

165mm L33A1 (with greater penetration in HE terms and nearly double the HE quantity) doing no damage at the same spot:

In fact look how far down you have to go for HESH to do any kind of HE damage:

You have to be essentially touching the roof to do any kind of HE damage.

And in spite of this information, rounds like HEAT and APHE don’t seem to have the same issue, they will overpressure via HEAT at fairly impressive distances considering their purpose and HE quantity.

Examples here are 122mm HEAT-FS and 125mm HEAT-FS.
Now these aren’t quite the same distances as with 155mm M1 but considering these are HEAT type rounds with less than 3kg of TNTe it is a bit impressive.

Spoiler

Or like here with KV-1 SAP and 120mm L31, the latter of which has much more HE and “energy penetration” but clearly cannot HE kill at the same range.
