Yeah, any and all muscle memory from previous aircraft goes out of the window with them. Why I can’t wait for radar gunsight for the FRS1. Gunna make a world of difference

The bigger issue is velocity and the lack of post pen effect.
Due to the really terrible velocity the AP shells drop to 22mm of pen at 0 at 500m. At the same range the SAP from the hispanos has 16mm, and from the muzzle an extra 29m/s of velocity (and extra 49m/s with stealth belts for some reason). Leads to at least in my experance them being terrible at dealing with planes with lots of modules. Then when they do pen, cause they’re a hunk of metal they don’t really do much, compared with SAP that just dismantles aircraft.

I just use stealth belts, the HE blows things apart.

But yeah, Vs something like Su-25s, they can be a lack luster

while waiting for the red top range buff I accidentally made a missile formation with a random lightning player, this made me laugh so hard that I forgot to play

range buff? never gonna happen. also, as i assume your a fellow British enjoyer, have they done anything to the red tops in the last month or so. been away for a while and it feels as if they removed their ability to track off the rails. makes them feel more like fire streaks with how long it takes for them to start tracking.

Currently has an 0.6s guidance delay and tracks at 12 deg/s, not sure if that’s changed at some point tho

just feels like they don’t want to turn until they’ve already flown by the enemy. especially not nice considering you have to be within 0.8km for you to actually hit someone going at a leasuraly pace away from you.

The motor weighs ~60kg (over half the weight of the rest of the missile) so the extra weight plus the time it takes to get up to speed might explain why it struggles to pull at first?

Well, the range buff happened lol

Its however a mixed bag:

  1. Drag coefficent almost halfed, so much slower decelleration and better range.
  2. G pull down from 16G to 12G, this seems pretty unrealistic, lets hope its an error.
  3. Booster force nerfed a bit.
  4. totally new guidance tables

Basically a totally new missile FM, I guess we will have to see how it performs on the dev server

Yeah…

You can already check it out in a test flight, changes often go live there earlier, it’s confirmed by the larger gimbal limit, the missile does feel different but the lowered booster force makes it feel more sluggish at high alt

Not sure if they are on that yet. Still lacking a bit in terms of range
