British Weapon Systems - Technical data and discussion

It’s all confirmation bias, apparently.

Thats really odd, I’ve been able to dome the T-64(whatever mbt is is) from 21km away consistently.

Yeah, its not even like I am doing anything inconsistant with it, 1 will land perfectly on say, the SPAA, another hit the moving SPAA, but then a 3rd will just outright miss whatever I aim at, or in another run 2 will miss and 1 tracking a moving target hit fine xD.

Maybe its just a bit glitchy for me in the dev server, least I hope, I would like to enjoy them in the main server lol.

Just done some more test firings

Is that just Buc S2B or is it both Bucs?

Both, right now its only on the S2B but I reported that it should be on the S.2 as well.

Thank you

So it only gets point tracking like other TV missiles beyond (presumably) 7km? What a joke for a man in the loop missile its literally just a discount maverick that requires a completely useless datalink pod.

The least they can do if they refuse to model it properly is give it a much better moving target tracking range to reflect its IRL function.

Right now its out to ~21km, its point tracking against ground will also be increased thanks to a report from @Flame2512

I don’t suppose I will get very far by arguing that Martel should have it’s moving target lock range increased to 30 km as well? On the grounds that it would be able to hit moving targets at 30 km if it had it’s proper guidance method, therefore that capability shouldn’t be removed just because Gaijin don’t want to model man in the loop.

Worth a try.

@SemiPartician it’s on the dev mate

How does one go about trying?

Report or pass me the details.

I was about to ask if we can get that feature, even if it was upped to like 15km or so, because right now it moves so slowly that you might as well just use a laser guided bomb because anything you fire at is going to move.

I’m not familiar with Mavericks, but it seems that the aircraft doesn’t need to carry any kind of target/datalink pod. What would be the usefulness of carrying the datalink pod with the AJ.168, if the guidance system isn’t implemented and it functions like a Maverick? Just to occupy a valuable wing pylon?

Just had a thought, could suggest that along with a “1 missile at a time control” so that it simulates controlling the missile into the target? That way we dont get 3 Martels barreling at 3 SAMs in seconds.

Might be a bit more balanced with long range tracking vs “all the firepower”.

I think its worth remembering that the “TV guidance” we have on the Martels is to mimmic the actual guidance method and I dont think they could actually be guided in that manner IRL. Strictly speaking, I don’t beleive AGM-65 and Martels should use the same method of guidance at all

Perhaps they could return the missile tracking camera to the Martel and have it use SACLOS controls? Not exactly an ideal situation but it would adequately simulate a man in the loop system?

I forgot to ask earlier. Does the Blue Parrot have IFF?

Im doubting it, but good to ask just in case
