All of the AVGP fall under Piranha as LAV I.
LAV II, LAV-25, Bison and Coyote all fall as license built models of the Mowag Piranha II
I thought the LAV 2 series was developed from the AVGP independently
For all the Americans thinking the LAV is for them, your country doesn’t build our lavs
The topic of Canada in the US tree is useless
Gaijin doesn’t want controversy to their game so that won’t happen
Lmao bro is not caught up in the news.
Funny that is, General Motors Land Systems is based in Canada, which is where they are produced, however, General Motors still own the production rights, so, production in Canada could stop and switch to the US at any point.
More to the point, the US OWN the LAV family
What rock do you live under?
lemme tell you a secret,
BAE systems offical nation / main headquarters is in england london.
But that doesnt make the whole CV IFV series british.
They are still all swedish vehicles. Just cause the Main headquarters is in britian, doesnt make the CV british.
There can be company family headquarters for different regions, that dont realy have anything to do with each other.
To the pain of the british, that still means the challenger 130 is german, cause it was all done in germany and done under german rheinmetall. And not the british one.
US uses the LAV family, but they dont own them, cause in cases like this, the nations often have a huge chunk of investment in it and controll power.
In the case of the LAV the canadians likely have more power over it.
The LAV should be added to UK more likely then US (exception being US LAV service variants)
Except you are forgetting that the vehicles are manufactured under General Dynamics, which is an American company, the same way the challenger 130 as you said would be German, as it was produced under Rheinmetall
The same way that the Paveway 4 is British as it was designed by Raytheon UK, in the UK, with UK tech and workers, then produced in the UK, however it is still considered American since the Paveway family, AND Raytheon are American
General Dynamics hold the rights to the LAV name, regardless of where they are produced, they are operated by Canada so that is a good enough reason to give them to the UK or USA, but ultimately an American company owns the LAV name and the rights of production
Edit: GDLS- Canada is only a small subsidiary of GDLS, who is based in Michigan by the way
Tldr, you literaly didnt read what i wrote and didnt get it
idk about that part. they made GPS paveways before
not really. they are a secondary customer at this point. US Army alone has nearly 5 times the amount of Strykers
Nope, the problem is you not understanding, it doesn’t Mather what you think, GDLS own the rights to LAV, therefore it’s American, regardless of where it was produced
It uses a laser + gps with a British built laser proximity fuse, it also I think uses a different flight computer to allow different flight paths
yeah, it was the next step up from basic dual mode paveways that Raytheon was making before
Nup, you still dont get it
You are saying CVs are british
Doesnt realy matter that the US has more now, the number isnt relevant the origin lies in canada
pretty much every important part that makes the vehicle what it is from LAV 2 onwards is American. They made the LAV to cater to a specific market, and later on the US govt showed interest
So the russian T series is french now cause they use french optics?
the main armament, engine, transmission, the very steel its made of, and optics are all American
