British IFV ammo not having the penetration the real ammo has why seems like devs have personal agendas
WT uses a formula to calculate penetration for most KE shells. They dont take penetration values from shell sources.
This has been the case for a while, here is a direct comment from the devs.
pretty sure the RARDEN is still using it’s stated stats, or it would have gotten nerfed around the time of the Fox release
ngl I have no idea what OP is on about
no1 likes the brits…and baguette people
joke ^^
So all ammo in game doesnt follow the stats by the real world testing? I never knew this i thought it was armour follows real world stats no ?
We dont like our own dont worry 😂
Most IFV ammo in general is missing some of its real armor-penetration capability due to the formulaic system being used currently.
For example, DM63 APDS on the 20mm Rh202 should pen about 90mm at 1km away. And technically since the gun has the same dimensions, even the infamous R3-T20 should get this round and be punted up to 8.0.
Testing of ammo varries a lot from nation to nation, see charm 3 with 700mm of pen. Many rounds also lack penetration values from offical sources, at which point something like LO is easier as you only need dimensions.
Armour is another story, often you have no clue about the makeup of it (for most western tanks that is) while there are protection claims like the swedish trials. Gaijian has to work with few sources, so it wont be perfect but LO is better than nothing.
Thank you ive learned a lot . Understand why things are a bit better now
They prefer to use the formulas, sometimes they do meet advertised performance, other times it doesnt, on the rarden for example they would loose a lot of penetration at short range and would retain the penetration better at longer ranges
game uses a formula which lowballs everything. nothing can be done
