Sa addition is easy they reprsented a player base not yet in the game,while also fullfilling zhe need gor light tanks for now
but they didnt, they just added a bunch of vehicles literally no one plays and the rooikat 105 as a premium XD

yes this irritated me greatly when the tree was announced they were being added to fix the tree’s problems of speed and mobility etc. All this while going years without adding the scores of vehicles we’ve been asking for years they add that would have done the job.

It bassically didnt solve any of the issues, the 105 was already a premium, after that the best thing in that tree is likely the oilphant mk 2. The tree is a tech tree deadend, they would have been better served by just adding the light tank/ifv line, it would have plugged the holes and actually have a end of the line vehicle instead of teh TTD which i swear i have seen in game less times than i have fingers on one hand.
they didn’t even commit to it, as they gave the class 3 p to Germany which arguably would have been one of the few actual good SA vehicles. we then proceeded to get the two worthless varks, the worse version of the g6 and then this sarc armoured car. They say its not taking away dev time but it clearly is we have had 7 native brit things since then and a good chunk of them are Copy Paste challengers

That statement from Smin is different, and only addresses light tanks.
Saladin, GKN Simba 90 for example aren’t domestic light tanks used by Britain.
They were created by British companies, but their use was by foreign military which means not domestic.
Olifant Mk1 is British in origin, but it’s used by South Africa which makes it not domestic.
The british used the saladin in large numbers, it was only phased out when the scorpoin came into service

to be fair the ttd is actually quite good, the best vehicle in the entire line imo. but ever since the brits were added weve been asking for the same attention the top 3 got in tanks or even close to but the brits havent gotten a tree that makes logical sense with lights, heavies and medium tanks all mixed together with no logical progression. very few duplicate tanks to flesh out lineups eg. cromwells like t-34 , pz4, panthers etc. no light tanks, britain could have a huge lineup of light tanks, very few heavy tanks, no “derp” tanks of which britain could have a whole branch also. Hell, brits dont have a single 25pdr in the tree yet! where are the british spg’s. All these games do is incorrectly teach people britain was a backward nation who didnt know how to do anything well vs the top 3 and its almost all down to lack of attention, lack of content, ignorance on the dev’s part and favouritism.

We have basically gotten only challangers, and the occasional schizo addition that is appreciated like the Churchil NA75. At top tier our lineup is literally just mbts, so its why its comical that gaijin is adding another mbt thinking that will help the tree in the slightest. Its clearly just an attempt to try and farm some more one death leavers, but why would you get that when you can get a premium chally, just to grind out more challys.
Rank 7 for the brits is literally only challangers and two spaa, with one role playing as a atgm carrier XD

But even ignroing the SA tree. The Ystervark was a good addition, but the Bosvark felt entirely unnecessary, especially so soon after the Skink. The Za-35 is entirely redudant (and gaijin msut agree as its getting foldered with the marksman) and the ZT3A2 is also entirely redudant because of striker and warrior (again, its being foldered). If they had added SA stuff to actually fill in the gaps, like an SPAA at 6.7 ish, then great, but they didnt

The favourtism is clearly there though i have a long list of vehicles that should be in the brit tech tree, but got slapped in other trees due to conveniance.
the most agregious to me are the following

Then you have debatable ones like the mexas, ozzie abrams and so on and that is just ground

britain had a huge export market like russia, germany and america they just didnt use them all or used them in small numbers, that doesnt make them not british. these projects were often development and design programs to use new tech, design concepts, reduce production costs (economy of scale) you can make your own tanks cheaper and faster if you can afford bigger factories producing the same parts for many vehicles.

oh definitely, aussie abrams should have been as well if they had to add it to the game. of which one of their excuses was britian didnt need another top mbt… then they give us a russian tank…
For me the Rooikat MTTD is great too, but freaking hell, I’m not playing another stock vehicle with heat for a while. DM23 is last tier modification and it doesn’t have an MG to destroy fences before shooting at someone, that was the worst experience I had playing any vehicle in the tree…
And 3 more challangers, of which the only one worth playing is the export one with the improved engine
The issue with the MTTD is its ust a worse 105, it has worse handling and ammunition placement, no machine gun, and one less crew member, with the only strength being a rof that is matched by the premium with a good crew, which is what you should have on it anyway due to it being your grinder
It would be much better if they added the 120mm version but they just decided to add a worse (but no bad) one than the premium.
