what guys have forgot is that in this game, only ‘penetration damage’ gives damage to crew compartment, which means slow firing big caliber means nothing compared to fast firing small caliber guns.
Yes this game is piece of nuts and not ready for ‘famous’ battleships we’re going to met. World of Scharnhorst would be only replaced by World of Bisrmarcks.
i am thinking it is the 37mm plate below the main belt as that is the only thing i can think will get pened my low calibers but at the same time it still makes no sense how easisly it happens as it also feels like the area is just massive that gets flooded where on every other ship i have gotten them on even from a torp wont sink you from just 1
The 38mm plate below main belt armour is deep below waterline and is unlikely to be hit by small calibre shell. The most common cause of severe flooding was hits received ahead of the citadel, where the hull is not protected by armour. Because of game design, a breach can flood the entire hull section where it locates, so the first two main turrets can get flooded even if the armour is not penetrated:
Ofc there’s another problem that the ship’s hull being too weak so it can be destroyed by handful hits. If the hull can last longer before getting destroyed, unrepairable breach would not occur so quickly.
We can’t have the real compartmentalisation in game due to game design limitations. It’s not because developers doesn’t know that. This applies to all ships and there’s no point to bring this up. What we can do is to suggest some minor adjustments based on the current standard.
Yep, Torp hit, 1000lb bomb, even sustained 16" HE. I can totally beleive it would cause enough hull damage to potentially compromise a large section of the ship. But a few 6" HE shells, no chance
That sounds like a rather poor excuse but I understand where you are coming from. On that note however im sure if the dev’s wanted to make it possible they would find a way.
And if the game really cant do it when why add Battleships in the first place…
