That would probably explain why she bleeds crew quite fast despite being hit by unimportant areas.
Using Hood remains my most favourite activity, honestly nothing is as enjoyable in this game, she remains (and will remain) my undisputed favourite until Vanguard or G3 arrive.
Just a shame I have nothing to grind for lmao.
While I don’t have hood yet, I think I’m going to enjoy the county class destroyers if/when they arrive
Definitely will be good to see them, a very natural successor class to the Daring class.
I personally look forward to it. I’m also hoping for the Mk2 Sea Slug on it, which has a little bit more range but more importantly goes nearly twice as fast
Seacat, sealug, and maybe even Exocet if we’re feeling funny
Probably not Exocet on the basis there’s no counter in game right now, but Seacat (ideally GWS.24 so I don’t die of cringe having to hand guide it in) and Seaslug would be fab. Worst comes to worst we could bin the Exocet and get another pair of 4.5in guns.
Even better still, we could just skip to the Type 82. Ikara, Autoloading 4.5in gun, 20 and 30mm cannon, and Sea Dart too!
Unless they had no more or less power than the Bravy?
One at a time, “limited” damage. mouse guided like most ATGMs.
Its possible…
The Exocets?
Think about it, you’d be cross map sniping people (not like Bravys and Douglases do that in EC anyway) but to an extent thus far unheard of.
Plus, how would you select different Missile systems?
Im suggesting they basically have a range/performance equal to the bravy’s, as oppose to just not modeling them at all
That’s the thing - the selling point of Sea Slug for me is that it does have a better range than Volna - why the hell would we undersell ourselves, especially considering British Naval has been cocked over at every opportunity.
This is why I’m so vehemently anti any “but it has Seacat” suggestions - yes, it has Seacat. Seacat should’ve been renamed Seashat based on how useless and pointless it was. It has less than 6,000 yards in range and was subsonic, which relegates it to “Cessna killing” duties at best. It has no proximity fuse, a relatively small warhead and (apart from GWS.24 variants) was SACLOS or Manually Guided.
It does.
Dunno why I thought it didn’t.
Must be thinking of Rapier or something like that
Rapier should also have one
Now that is not necessarily the case. Variant Specific. iirc a number of the Mk.1 missile variants did not have a proximity fuse, though missiles from the Mk.2 variant all came equipped with proximity fuses, as did the Mk.1E, which by memory was in production by 1990.
@HK_Reporter have you got any recommended way of testing dispersion (lateral dispersion particularly I haven’t figured out an accurate method). I acquired figures for the 15" and 13.5" guns thanks to @Flame2512
The current thought is to find a ship in a custom, range it, and then fire ranging shots and obtain a range of dispersion between the shortest shot, the furthest shot and the mean.
Yesterday when trying this at 12,500 yards i obtained a range of vertical dispersion of 330metres over 25 shells. With a mean shell being 120 metres off. (Not adjusting for the shells that hit but some at the waterline, some only just hitting and some about where i had intended)
According to the dispersion table it should have been more like 70.
I plan to make a community side bug report for these guns and their dispersions, i know you have an internal one but theres no easy way for us to show our support for it, whereas one on the main server we can all go and smash the “i have same issue” button.
i would mabye try and ask one of the data miners to see if there is any coded dispursion on guns
Datamined info cannot be used for bug reports unfortunately.
But as dispersion is coded in its definitely written there somewhere. I suppose it would be a good thought experiment to see how much dispersion is actually coded into these guns though.
well when the italians get there 15inch guns the question would be should they have worse than average dispersion as they did have said bad dispersion irl but that would make the not fun to play. but they they are putting random numbers to the dispersion for “ballance” i feel that would be kinda dumb
Id suggest they should leave it and just buff the British guns. I don’t have the documents pertaining to the other guns so I’m not sure if these guns would be nerfed or buffed.
Though if gaijin were to introduce historical dispersion for guns above 10" I would support that.
Something like the Littorio is probably the best European battleship and at 10km theres no chance it would be that bad.
