and my god these changes have made Hood squishy
Blank HE shells or SAP/delayed fuse? Is there any difference regarding that issue?
Hull covers take explosion damage and kinetic damage primarily. At long range where KE damage is not that much, HE shells is more effective as they explode upon impact of the hull (bear in mind only the cover of hull takes damage, I.e. it is hollowed in DM), and vice versa for short range
SAP would work similarly to AP unless they explode at the far side of the hull cover
Rodney is unplayable again. I just took 1 salvo and lost 4 armour sections from yellow to black.
Hood as well. I spawn in and become swiss cheese in about 2 seconds. What the hell have they done to naval?
Just realised something kinda dumb. HMS Marlborough is Rank VI and HMS Iron Duke is Rank V. But they are basically the same ship :D
And renown and repulse
I can’t find the other UK naval thread, so I’ll post it here:
MTB-460 Incorrect Operating Nation:

I’m surprised that wasn’t caught during the dev server, such a simple change but still not done.
They needed a bug report once I asked about it; however, we were slightly too late for dev photos and needed to wait until live.
Hence, why Thatz was only able to make it today.
Makes sense, still a shame it takes a player report for to correct something Gaijin should’ve already got right from their own research into the vehicle.
I really hate this idea that a historical buff can be ignored if a ship doesnt need it. Historical changes should always be implemented. If the buff makes it stronger it should change battle rating. Thats what BRs are for.
Anyone else finding that secondary guns when fired with primary guns are landing no where near each other. Its practically made secondary guns worthless
I’m having this problem with the 6" casemates on the Marlborough, although I thought this was a problem with all casemate guns, as I’ve been having trouble with the Orion’s 4" guns over-shooting since before this new update.
Barham and Rodney before this update were fine. Now Rodney isnt and havent checked Barham
Already happened since last update, where they corrected the shell drag overperforming, but seems gaijin dudnt bother to also adjust the gun aiming point so now you need to aim 200-400mts lower to hit with your secondaries, or select only your secondaries and aim them that way, whichever you find less annoying since leaving them to AI control will only work against planes
It affects all ships, I was only playing Iron Duke last update since I already finished Italy so I got time to grind UK, but now that they added Roma and Im playing my main nation again, I have the same problem of aiming secondaries in Cavour
Interesting, because I never had an issue until this major update dropped 2 days ago
Is quite noticeable if there is a high difference in muzzle velocity/flight trajectory at the range you are shooting(I would need to research an american BB to check their case, since their 5in have a very slow muzzle velocity that they feel more like mortars haha and I would expect a very absurd difference in the trajectory of their main and secondaries shells), but imo what influences it the most is how fast you are closing into each other, as in both ships are sitting still or going parallel the problem wont be noticed, but if both ships are going head-on or approaching fast each other while angling the aiming problem where the secondaries always overshoot becomes apparent
And obviously at brawling range the problem doesnt exist since the distance is too short for the difference to mess the aim of the secondaries
I dont know if anyone else has gotten Vanguard yet, but have you been able to get your radar to lock onto aircraft. Doesnt seem to work
So, not fully spaded, but i’ve done a decent number of matches in Vanguard
Initial impression, shes okay. Certainly can fight most other BBs but at the moment just feel like a later refit of Hood rather than a new build/WW2 build BB. The FCS is identical to Hood (and I think all other WW1 era ships) and the reload rate is still 30 seconds. We need better FCS and Vanguard’s IRL 25 second reload and she will actually feel like a proper progression from Hood, and an actually “modern” and “advanced” battleship.
Also the radar is bugged and cant be used to lock onto aircraft, this is wrong and Riley has sources to report this when he’s back.
TLDR:
- 25 second reload would be a lovely buff for it
- More advanced FCS (faster target ranging, updates and maybe more accurate range finder) is an absolute must
- Radar needs to lock onto aircraft
But she isnt sinking like Rodney was when new, so we have that going for us at the moment
