For supercharge yes
For penetration based of IRL firing test, no. Remember the chaos with report about penetration on old days, I’m satisfactory about current penetration formula.
Actually, Royal Navy, with its thick armor on capital ships, are beneficiary of current penetration formula, not a victim imo.
Do we have a counter for British things that are DOA? Because by my count we have at least lightning, vanguard, the javelin, the tracked rapier, and a few others things I can’t remember at the moment.
Regardless would be an uphill battle, less armour, less penetration, less damage per shell, fewer guns. Layout means we won’t get 1-tapped but that’s where I envisage the positives end.
With WT penetration formula, supercharged 15" APC can penetrate 410mm RCA@20deg up to roughly 10km. This already takes angle of fall into account.
One of the main disadvantages of Yamato’s armour scheme in this game is that she cannot angle like most of other ships to increase armour effectiveness in close quarters melee, due to the presence of diagonal bulkheads. So she has to stay distant from any potentially dangerous opponent with full broadside, which somewhat limits her tactical versatility. I would say the playing style of Yamato will be very similar to US standard battleships atm, that is to stay as far from your enemy as possible and being a sniper ship. She’s going to be very strong in a fundamentalistic long range gunnery engagement but she’ll be struggling in short range maps and cap-points where you have to rush forward.
