Britain Naval Tree - What’s left to be added for all BRs

I know, that’s my point, its not very good so the turrets really do need to be done properly to maximise their already poor armour.

It’s a bit of a weird timeline to add Vanguard now but I do sort of understand it. That said I think the UK was tied over fine, i don’t understand why Gaijin keeps giving ships to nations with already full lineups and decent ships rather than investing in trees which are struggling like Italy, USA and France. Then again, this is the first blog, they might add others in this time.

We need the supercharges and the MK.XVIIb (Cardinal hardened variant) and ideally penetration would be based off the IRL firing trials and not the pen calculator.

Now may be the time to kick up a fuss about the lack of HE-VT and radars on British capital ships and cruisers. Considering we had some of the first and indeed the best radar systems of the war. 15" HE is also needed too.

Part of my ‘add Vanguard right or don’t add her at all’

This is needed not only for Britain)
Japan and the USA are also sitting without radars. And only Germany and France recently received radars on some ships that have Radar. And Japan, Britain and the USA have not yet received working Radar on all ships

Indeed i’m only focussed on Britain here due to Vanguard being added. One of her high points is the best FCS of the lot Iowa only got her upgrades for the Korean war prior to this Vanguard takes the cake and part of that is the number and quality. It would be good to have a continuous range from the radar as well as more accurate shell spotting etc.

Yea, would be cool. Wont happen tho ;)

Even just the ultra rapid target lead update you get with ships like HMS tiger would be awesome for a BC

Especially for unloading 5.25" shells into smaller targets

Speaking of which, what kind of firerate can we expect from the 5.25"?

The primaries of the Vanguard are a bit outdated, but man, the secondaries look super fun to use

I have no idea what you mean. Those WW1 era 15" guns were perfectly fine for a 1946 battlecruiser :P

8RPM sustained, reports of up to 12RPM in burst fire but due to close proximity within the turret virtually everyone agrees on the 8RPM figure as a sustained rate, its literally just a copy paste from Dido though.

Radar AA should group the guns into individual firing groups so theoretically you’d be able to engage 4 separate targets with radar with the secondaries battery and an individual target for each of the 10 with the sextuple bofors mounts, plus one target with the twin STAAG MK.II mount.

So not too shabby then. Was hoping you’d say around 4 second reload but 7.5 seconds (8RPM) or 6 seconds (HMS Dido) is quite decent

Yeah… I wish we could do that

how is a copy of scarnhost supposed to sink a late war battleship like vanguard ?

Given the fact that Scharnhorst remains the strongest ship in the game to this day. Fairly easily Id imagine, especially as we have no idea what Germany is actually getting

not really id say a vanguard is miles ahead in all aspects

Largely the same guns as found on the Hood, Royal Soverign, Repulse, Renown, Barham and Warspite.

Armour protection not that far off those too from what I understand.

The main advantages will be very good AA and FCS

Same way everyone else had to kill Scharnhorst, or has to kill Amagi. Also Vanguard’s belt isn’t all that good. You can bleed her through AA bleed and close distance to be able to pen Vanguard. Also you forget that Vanguard will also have issues penetrating Scharnhorst critically.

Now the alternative is you could complain at gaijin for the bullshit performance of turtleback armour? And then perhaps they’d add Bismarck and Tirpitz without an ahistorical buff making them OP?

yeah no clue why they did that but Bismarck and Tirpitz historically speaking where very survivable ships so it makes sense to implement it but not to point of being immortal

The interior of the battleship Vanguard
