Britain Air Forces

Perhaps… I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see. Either way, as long as we dont just get a C&P Mig-29, i’ll be happy. Though would be happier with something British than an F-18 or Gripen. B

If AMRAAM jets fight only against AMRAAM jets I don’t see any problem with that, but if they end up being just 12.7 or even 12.3, yeah, that would be bad

No, sorry. To clear it up it was more of Japan having literally no options between EJ-Kai and F-15J. Reinforced by the fact that the F-2 is derived from the F-16

Whereas the UK has domestic options (although he failed to use the word crap so i’ll do it for him).

When I mentioned that we had no fighters he did not acknowledge that part.

I can see why, but nothing truly british seems to be competitive at all.

Can’t see them adding a whole new BR jump in one update… I wonder why haha

It’s not horrific, but I much prefer my MLA, Mig-29, even things in the UK tree like the Swift, to the Harrier.

I dunno, just disappointed that I grinded this far lol, I’m sure the Harrier will be fine.

Yup, and that’s why I absolutely hate the thought of AMRAAMs being added already

yeap, currently its sad to only have the UK at top tier, so next week im buying the Mig-23ML. Britain is still my beloved, but it just got boring.

Yes IRL, we had the ‘Fighter Gap’ where the US told us we were free to develop the Harrier for strike missions along with the Tornado for strike and intercept. But between the FGR phantoms (excluding the panic purchase of the F-4J) and the Eurofighter, we literally had no fighters because the US was covering that aspect.

The exchange was RAF Lakenheath hosted things like F-16/15’s and they provided air superiority in-case of a Soviet attack. Part of the reason the F-14K would’ve done alright in the UK tree is that it was one of the aircraft that helped fix the UK’s fighter gap.

Definitely, the ML is good. My current project is the French TT, one bonus with France is that they export more airframes than the UK does so they have lots of solutions/airframes.

Makes you wonder how it would’ve gone if the UK had kept exporting to places like India and the commonwealth.

Man, why can’t they just add some new early jet toys, fix the broken ass SRAAMs and Red Tops or decompress the hell out of BRs
I wouldn’t even be playing top tier if there was new interesting stuff at mid tier or just less compression turning good vehicles into trash just by comparison to what other nations have at their rank

I want those times when the FGR.2 had just got the Skyflash again, damn that was probaly the last time britain was meta at top tier :(

Yep stuff like the:

  1. Folland Gnat
  2. Supermarine Type 545
  3. Hunter FGA 74BS
  4. Hawk any variation of AIM-9’s and gunpod.
  5. P.1109B

I can keep going of the top of my head…

Edit: I’d trade any current top tier steal from another nation for any singular one of these aircraft… literally i’d trade any, less of a shit storm, more British aircraft that would actually compete with the competition.

Hunter stands less chance than a swift against an F-2 sabre or CL13 or Mig-17

Time to get sad over the lack of LCAs and advanced trainers in WT again

Haha, some of these aren’t even damn trainers. When you see the Hawk it makes it look like the UK took several decades to be able to build a high performance subsonic, then you realise the Gnat was massively superior to even the CL13, AND that the Supermarine Type 545 was better than the F-100 in virtually every way.

Damn wish we hadn’t been so poor in the 50’s could’ve been a whole different nation.

current problem is top tier jet, either heaven or hell

There’s at least one alternate time line out there in which britain built the greatest aircraft in every single era and Gaijin still wouldn’t add them to War Thunder

Definitely going to be hell, even if we get the CF-18 which in my view (other than a BAE EAP) would be the absolute best case scenario, the intense shit-storm it will cook up will be awful.

When I was looking at the AJ justification I saw the comments on the dev-blog and they were not happy. Now imagine its the UK. Like Japan gets it toned down a bit, they(The US) have a huge naval base there, basically colonised the place immediately post-WW2, but the UK, man they will not be happy to see US get something broken, particularly if it’s not actually ours.

I’d wager its the most probably timeline.

if hawk 200 can’t receive aim-120, it"s just another current Italy AV-8B+
