Britain Air Forces

If they have something else planned for uk f14 isn’t needed so it depends on them

They have promised a ‘top tier jet’

I specify a fighter because as far as interceptors go, I’m sure the Tornado is one of the best in-game. Good payload and good avionics.

However Britain lacks a top tier ‘fighter’ which is what most people play Air RB for. The fact that we know Sweden is due Gripen, a fighter but when the UK is mentioned it becomes a top tier ‘jet’ makes me suspect its a Tornado or Harrier.

Furthermore when I asked Smin to clarify he didn’t state if it was a new airframe (Tornado or harrier improvement would not be a new airframe).

I hope for something that a harrier and a tornado is all we can do

It’s not an internal “suggestion” but an internal decision within the company, so not really. The best you can do is ask someone like smin about whether Gaijin would consider it, but I wouldn’t hold your breath on that one.

The f14(uk) is a long shot to be fair

I see thanks for clearing that up.

By merit it should be (its more or less the same circumstances) however I expect the answer to be no. But I will ask.

Neither the UK or Japan used the aircraft proposed, both got denied popular additions as they were OP but both also came close to purchasing such aircraft to fill a capability gap during the same time period.

The only reason I even consider it is because the AJ literally is the same scenario with obvious national differences in minor details.

It’s not a case of my Yak-141 v EAP argument, its very nearly the same scenario

It is very similar but i still doubt it would happen but love if it did

I mean, sure, but with Japan there were very few, if any, other nations which a plane could be drawn from without immediately starting a riot, and I don’t believe Japan operates any vehicles from another country in-game. The UK is connected to the entire Commonwealth, and while people would probably still complain, you’d be far more likely to see a real plane operated by the Commonwealth than a proposed F-14 sale.

That’s disgusting.

Oh I totally understand and I’d prefer commonwealth but the UK was denied a sub-tree so that would mean a 1-off addition.

Of course such additions do exist such as the case of the canadian ADATS but i recall at least someone making it exceptionally clear that the GB tree was not a commonwealth or CANZUK tree.

Literally the only reason I suggest it is to draw parallels with the F-16AJ.

But yes I think a commonwealth addition is probably less likely to insight a riot, than say a South Korean or other South-East-Asian addition.

Quintessentially British.

I’ve sent a message to Smin we shall see how it goes.

Good luck

Thankyou

Every little narrows it down. We’ve already essentially established that the Gripen D ETPS is a no-go and this may or may not rule out the F-14K.

That would take us to Tornado, harrier, CF-18, SAAF Gripen C, or another commonwealth addition.

Me and Thatz are working one one I can see if I could invite you. (It is one to go with his tree but it’s still a RCAF tech tree suggestion.)

That sounds good to me, I appreciate the invite thankyou.

F-14K is off the table unfortunately, not that we didn’t expect it.

I’d expect a Tornado or Harrier (its not confirmed though, just a hunch).
