APDS is not what makes that thing so strong…same for all the other 35mm armed SPAAs… the APHE is. 40 rounds of APDS on the Gepard are certainly not the reason why it is one of the most used TD`s at its BR XD And the same goes for the falcon.
You’re right about the Gepard, but the Falcon has it’s APDS evenly distributed in it’s main belt , the ratio is 1 in 4
should note that because of the rather lazy way gaijin modelled ammo belts the APDS doesnt get the high velocity that it gets from the RARDEN 30mm. however it retains the same penetration values
If gaijin wanted the falcon to be moved lower but keep a non explosive AP shell in a belt they could replace the APDS with an APCR that was designed for the RARDEN as an interim until the APDS was completley developed for service. While it wouldnt be a historically accurate shell to appear in such a later vehicles arsenal gaijin is no stranger to historical inaccuracies in shell choice for balance, XM800T has a german APDS belt for that exact reason

I wish we could drop the Centurion 3 back down to 7.3, it’s terrible compared to the other 7.7’s.
Then replace it with the 5/1 or 7/1. Preferably the 7/1 as we already have a Mk 5/1.
the .50 cal makes so much of a difference with all the rats at that BR it’s kind of insane tbh.

So when does the apds actually Shatter? When it Hits overlapping Armor or two or more layers with space in between?
My 20pdr apds Just shatterd on a zsu57 turret Ring. Marvelous

.50 cal seems to be like the only calibre where its damage is working normally at the moment they are insanely powerful compared to an identical tank with only a .30 cal. That and the russian SPAAs that don’t use realshatter at least.

The brits and Germany are my two favourite nations. The conqueror besides the kt105 is my most beloved heavy tank. And the fv4005 the Most fun vehicle because its derpy Cannon.
I gained thousands of Kills with them until i stopped playing for 3 years (came Back recently). But gaijin managed to screw Up all the Tanks i enjoyed the Most (british ones).
Apds with atrocious damage Output when it not shatters, 183mm hesh lost all Splash damage and besides it deals far less damage than a152mm HE.
The Shatter effect screws the conqueror hard. Just Check the super Pershing Armor against the 120mm apds. Super Pershing is nearly invulnerable to the conqueror because all the layers Armor. 500mm Penetration LOL…
It is facinating how gaijin basically on purpose destroys the Game’s ability to be diversified with the huge amount of vehicles it has.

I’ll happily take Germany 7.0 over Britain 7.7 (assuming one has KT 10.5 / Flakpanzer 341 + uptiering JU288C with its 2x2500kg bombs on a highly mobile and survivable bomber platform).
Edit: Another issue with Caern and other Brit 7.7, if they don’t make their APDS or solid shot count they’re in trouble. It’s not like the USSR APHE.
