Britain 7.7

The British tank lineups suffer from the curse of being designed, mostly, in the real world by engineers aware of the real world production limitations of their industry, and that the tank would need to be crewed by actual soldiers who have actual human bodies. There’s also the fantasy shell performance where APHE is a perfect and godly round and solid shot/APDS can barely kill a single crewman post-pen.

Eh, while I’m not saying that Soviet Heavies don’t suck (I’ve lost count of how many have been on the receiving end of my shots) the Conker having a Mantlet that you can somehow troll with 122mm APHE is just a bit garbage.

It’s definitely bugged, I remember shooting it there and only the driver dying somehow. Did anyone report it?

never did in the end, iirc it was some spurious Gaijinista report that decreed that the Conker mantlet was wrong, and tbh i’ve had it happen so rarely (off the top of my head, that one instance) I just never bothered.

At least the gun is decent, less shatter BS I guess…Imo conqueror should receive an ammo buff to make the performance similar to the 105 mm of leopard 1 at 8.0, Tiran 4s etc, I wouldn’t be op imo because of the long reload

Opinions I guess, and while I respect yours I do not agree with it.
I’ve played the Conqueror in 84 matches (Spaded), 55% winrate (46 wins), sitting on 104 tanks destroyed and 68 deaths. The gun is decent, the ammo itself isn’t great in terms of post damage since its an APDS shell but there’s almost no tanks in the Conqueror BR that you cannot pen from front so you’re quite strong given your weaponry, you can even one shot most stuff, the reload is obviously terrible therefore why I said it shouldn’t be played in frontline or to brawl. Its obviously no Leopard or Tiran 4 but then again the Conqueror is sitting at 7.7 not 8.0 which makes it the “sweet spot” not getting uptiered versus 9.0 tanks (TAM, Leopard A1A1, etc).

I agree, i love playing the conqueror in sim battle, i find that using the commander fire control makes it easier to make accurate shots because of its positioning. It is also harder for others to just shoot your lower glacis bc of gunner optic positioning sometimes.

Holy skill issue batman. Literally one of the best lineups in the game.

yeah but it get’s uptiered into 8.7 constantly so it’s mid at best.

Composite armor, better rounds, you get lolpenned by anything anywhere, lrf, etc…

In a downtier it’s pretty good though, minus the abysmal reload time that makes the Caernarvon 1000 times better.

Why do you have issues in up tiers? Nothing (exaggeration) at that Br has armor anyways, and you already have stabilizer. What is to desire? If you aim carefully, you should be able to kill every single 8.7 tank frontally

Nothing has armor? T-55, T10, M60, T95, etc.

You face them all the time, they lolpen you, you have to actually aim for their weakspots all the time.

Plus, the Hesh is ass so don’t even try to take out light tanks with them so you have to shoot 2 apds at best to dispatch them if you don’t hit ammo on 1st hit, which can be hard since they move all the time anyways.

Can we stop pretending that things are fine when they’re not?

Yeah, you can do shit in an uptier, but you have to do all the work, while most poeple delete you by looking at you.

I still do good in the tank, I have like a 2.0 ratio in it cause I’m not an idiot, still, I don’t want to be sweating all the time to use something.

Fair enough I suppose

Sorry I was wrong on the ratio, it’s about 1.5 in the conqueror and 2.0 in the Caervarnon.

You’re not bad either with them in your stats but it shows that they are hard to use;

Thanks :) they can be frustrating to use sometimes, but I like the slow paced gameplay, and I love getting into sniper fights whilst in the conqueror

The soviet uptier is full of very undertiered stuff and there’s things like XM800T which beat out the British lights in function overall by a big amount however the Centurion is still a really good platform to fight through with, fox (and to a much lesser degree) scimitar still do mediocre after their massive nerfing. they arent 7.7 material anymore but you can rely on enemy skill issue a lot

Yeah same, I prefer the sniper role than brawling, I hate when I need to look at 12 angles at the same time cause my luck says that I will get shot from the one I just looked at and it was clear, then I move and I get popped by the same angle I just looked at and it was clear.

I miss old large maps where you had freedom of movement but heh, too much W lovers in CQB I guess.

Problem is soviet 8.7 suffers the same in uptiers, It’s one of my most played BR/Nation and it can do pretty well but the second you get into 9.3 matches it’s very hard to compete.

Biggest problem in the game isnt the vehicles or their br, it’s the compression, game would need ground br’s going at least up to 24.0 to separate them a bit more evenly and then most of these problems would dissapear.

Please dont speak about the scimitar, I have nightmare about this thing, gun is so innacurate, it’s ubber slow but will do a 360° on a slight turn, bouncy as fuck, no post-pen damage, etc.

Yeah, as far as sniping maps go, my favorite is the giant sand one (I cannot remember the name) where you can basically shoot from one end of the map to the other. I got into a pretty fun fight with a T95E1 he eventually just LFP me, but it was still enjoyable. By the end of our 4-5 minute encounter there were close to 4 tanks next to him all firing at me, but conqueror armor saved me until they disabled me with heatfs

that or they will shoot at the mantlet, everything go through that and a simple APHE will blow you up instantly lol.

It’s the only time I have ever really seen the value inusing it, since normally the penetration drop off isn’t too bad with kinetic rounds, but when you are firing from 2000-2500 meters away, it actually becomes viable
