Wait is this reworked White Rock Fortress? If it is, it has a hill!!! It has not been turned to 50m engagement CQC!!!
I think that’s just where one of the spawn points was/is.
However expanded map you saw in sim was decent for sniping because of how large it was.
Get ready for this low BR map to be exclusively 10.0+
And to be unplayable and as miserable as it was before they removed it.
I played on this map years ago, and it was one of the better ones. I still have a soft spot for it. The developers are certainly aware that this map is suitable for a BR of at most 6.7.
I distinctly remmeber getting a bug with my Valentine IX on this map when my gunner got shot out and nobody would replace him so I was useless until the end of the match
The castle itself was always above the adjacent land - it had a moat - soent’ look different in that respect

This map was so terrible for high tier but it’s the perfect low tier map
If they lock it to 1.0 - 8.0 it would be great
Personally, I wouldn’t put anything over 6.7 BR on the map myself . . .
But that’s just me too . .
Many of the early maps were great for lower tiers/BRs . . . Ash River, Carpathians . .
there are more but you get the idea.
Tank play and therefore the map designs were a lot different than after certain
eras entered and thereby changed the game.
They made some bigger maps and variations of maps that were good and
seemed to do a decent job accommodating the newer vehicles, but . . .
seems like map design kinda stagnated, but at the very least just did not
keep up with the flood of newer vehicles as they came into the game.
There has been a rash of “We want bigger maps!” . . reeeeeee for some of the player
base, but that isn’t a “fix all” for everything . . . just no “easy answer” . . . imho
But there is are a lot of maps(in all modes that I have seen) where far too many
BR ranges are allowed(forced) onto maps with ill suited spawn points and a
“one size fits all” mentality that . . . just doesn’t work a lot of the time.
Anyway, I would really like to see some TLC given to map design, proper spawn points
on the maps related to the BR ranges of the matches.
(No less than 2 spawn points everywhere!)
Add some variants to current maps with new spawn & capture points.
Remove the markers on the mini map for enemy spawn points, make some
actual “recon”, “search & destroy” aspects become part of the game.
But that’s just me and with “red zones” funneling players down narrow
corridors becoming more & more prevalent, those things do not seem likely.
Oh well . … we can hope
I am anxious to play on it again . . . I remember years ago playing some really
fun matches on it and having a blast with people in Custom Battles there.
Good fun . … we need more fun
I think the 1.0 - 8.7 range is fine for WRF but other maps still need to be adjusted. The red zones should be removed altogether and the spawn zones are definitely in need of an overhaul. Too many maps also don’t allow for different playstyles and are either full on sniping maps or pure CQB which sucks if you don’t get matched into the one your tanks thrive in.
