They are available on the Forum Archive
Yes but everything should have been ported and its not that it cant be done.
That this did not happen show either the inability of Gaijin or the unwillingness and both are bad.
Always forward, never back.
They were disorganized and crammed full of junk, and a LOT of it would’ve been people whinging and moaning about how bad the game is, staff is, forums is, and all the rest of how bad it was…
The issue I now have is the ‘limit’ unless I contribute more, and get more feedback or something, which makes it very hard to discuss, much the same as the chat timer in game.
I’ve been off the forums for 2 days because of that timer saying I couldn’t post for 10 hours because I was too new.
Just dumb.
From the company whose trust level is still trash as far as the community is concerned. Trust once lost is nearly impossible to get back. You need to revert this change and concentrate on remembering who it is keeping your company in business. You (Gaijin) are still on very thin ice. This is not the time to be screwing with the forum, the only way your community that you say you want to keep around can talk to you. Actions. Speak. Louder. Than. Words.
I guess this is a lost cause.
I’ve been getting into this Forum ONLY to check this very thread in hopes of seeing news stating that the old Forum would not be going to be taken from us or that, AT VERY LEAST, we will be having all of its threads ported seamlessly into the new one.
But no. All I see is “everything is fine because it will be on read only for 2 years before being erased from existence forever” and “just port or repeat whatever you want yourself”.
So much information, so many documents, so much effort, wasted and lost…
I voiced my unhappiness with their conduct. It might just be coincidence but a have a post pending for now more than 24 hours, while it is pending, I cant post anything else. Maybe just maybe there are a few bad apples, but what do you know?..
Certainly preferred the old forum. This one is difficult to navigate and read past posts without going back over previous one already read?
Fully agree with that.
Yes, it takes some time to tag your favorite stuff - and from my pov those tags are currently misleading. I mean if i am interested mainly in Air RB and see a post in Realistic Battles tagged with “air” i will find CAS in Ground RB.
So i decided to give them more time to adjust, they won’t go back…
A little drastic summary, but from my pov there is no real difference regarding the majority of the content - imho just the layout and structure is different…
Well, and it isn’t just things being flagged and removed. Lots of posts get moved to the gulags in the name of organization, but one could argue it’s just a way to disrupt posts that may be less than positive and have merit.
I’ve seen other places where this sort of thing has driven the community to create their own forum. Just sayin’.
this entire design is to stifle the voice of the majority that want the game to change. they want the easiest time possible to ruin the game further and make it more unenjoyable and to prevent another community outrage from being visible
ez
Why did they change to this new forum? This is preposterous.
Having done forum work for years, my last choice would be Discourse.
It would be better if the old forum comes, but if you want to continue with this kind of system, I recommend Flarum forum software, which is both visual and easy to use for users.

Old forum to relive memories
It’s been a few days and I’m getting used to using this forum. I miss the old forum, but I felt that the current forum is not so bad in its own way.
The only thing I really want to ask the developers is if it is possible to generate a “jump to old site” link on the 404 page of topics created in the old forum.
I can find starry-eyed suggestions and worthwhile threads by searching Google, but it is very frustrating to have to add “old-” to the URL every time I open one of these.
Its an absolute mess trying to find sub topics like in the machinery of war subforums. It used to be laid plain and clear now its a jumbled mess that requires extra work to get to. Want to open a topic about german helicopters? More work.
I still don’t like the “new” font in the game that they brought in about 8 years ago!
I can only agree that the recent changes to the forum are nothing but bad. It makes the forum a boring, generic place that I don’t want to spend any time in. The removal of custom profile pictures, signatures and now the switch to this new engine means I will likely not return to the forum for more than what’s absolutely necessary. They even removed the signature badges you got for closed beta participations! I don’t see any good reason for this change and it’s clearly highly unpopular.
My only assumption is they wanted uniformity with the enlisted forum. Hence why they changed to this format.
But now we get community moderation, so now you can get silenced and have your posts deleted by someone who dislikes your opinion all without moderators doing all the censorship, so more censorship, more moderation, still no accountability or responsibility for anyone involved, isn’t that a great improvement?
