Bring back the old Forum

I’m gonna say this, Having new kind of forum website is not bad IF Gaijin manages to import post from older forum on the basis part at least JUST like someone started new post about specific vehicle before anyone can begun some commentary or suggestion within 3 months from the day this NEW FORUM got added…

After that, i shall be a bit active to certain degree BUT not too much UNTIL this new FORUM expanded from imported older forum list on…

Although i was always a friend of simplifying very complex structures (which might built up over the years) i am not sure that the current structure is bringing any kind of advantages for the target audience - in it’s current form (i hope you will adapt soon) it looks like a draft and is not really suited to have any kind of advantages for users.

I mean why are people visiting a forum?

  1. To get news
  2. To ask for help or to support each other
  3. To exchange about certain aspects

Seeing War Thunder divided into:

  1. Air
  2. Ground
  3. Naval

…and the content divided into:

  1. Game play
  2. Game mechanics
  3. Game tools (vehicles)

…it is obvious that the current structure is not suited to get fast news or help regarding customer specific needs.

Just due to the complexity of the game (with all mentioned aspects) you need to implement additional layers/structures to create real value. Currently it is a massive inconvenience if you visit the forum with a specific goal…

And that’s why we’re taking feedback into account, to help make the forum better than what it was a few days ago. We’re making improvements slowly, understanding that those who can make the changes are also working hard being CMs and doing forum stuff at the same time. I am not the one who made the decisions about the forum or the section layout, so I can’t say anything about that in any official capacity.

suggestion: you (gajin) could have done this before shadow launching the new forum
results: people know what it is happening and feels part of the process, and they are not passiving receiving the change

Can we please have an additional filter on “Everything” so I can filter out non-english posts and topics. That would be helpful

This is so horrendously bad. Why would anyone think is a good idea.

It’s hard to overstate how bad this is. Where are all the old posts?

This yes,.
The forum could have been all set up and dialed in before being pushed, or even better, the community could have been told about it, crazy idea.
Could have worked with the community and talked about what they found to be important, what features they did and did not want etc, but as always Gaijin knows better of course.

Shame really because for a very brief moment, like 5 seconds, I thought Gaijin was going to actually try and communicate more but it’s just the usual antics.

Same lmao

Why is there WT forum? Communication and sharing information. In this regard this new forum is massive downgrade over old one. Layout is bloated pile of garbage that wastes way too much space to show very little actual information. Everyone’s post history is completely gone. Searching for anything is a nightmare.

And on top of that, as extension of already problematic moderation we’ll now get “shadow-moderation & censorship by mob” that’ll allow for flagging and hiding posts … and I very much doubt moderators will be in any rush to sort any of that out, just remember how ridiculously long it took for posts in pre-moderated sections on old forum to appear.

So less information, worse functionality, more potential for anonymous censorship, less oversight, more delays, … I really don’t see anything good about the change.

I cannot even post images frm the internet for some reason, I use the image function in this new editor and the links are normal with .jpg or .png For example, look at this beauty:

Can you see the Panther II with the fancy camo? I don’t think so. (Currently on PC)

Saying Ivan may be verboten or something IDK

You are making it extremely hard though. Its hard to see anything. When I wanted to find something in the old forums, it took me seconds. Now I tried to search for the new patchnotes and it took me literally 10 minutes!!!

I am done here. Good job on killing the forums. Its really laughable how all the mods praising the change because they have to and on the other hand 99 % of the users hate this change.

Don’t forget to give me all the bans you have for speaking my mind. Don’t care, ain’t planning on going back to this trashrum anyway.

All the links to other sites automatically get a “nofollow” tag.

You either have to upload an image to this site directly, or get promoted to Level 3 (this to me is the one actual advantage to trying to make that rank) which removes the “nofollows.”

Wow, this sucks, to put it nicely.

So just as a test, I flagged a post (won’t say whose, I included a note to the mods to revert it). While the post doesn’t disappear on one flag for sure, a problem is you can’t undo or amend your own flag once you’ve created it in any way. Knowing it’s irrevocable, and also knowing what happens visually to your post temporarily if x number of community people flag your post, before the moderators get to the reviewing, and how big “x” is, would be useful info here.

Damn, that trust level system is going to get a lot of people to develop trust issues on this forum.
