Looks like no. Didn’t think it would be that hard to find but apparently the earliest ARB matches I can pull on the server replays is Feb. 7th and I know it was earlier than that. Went through them just to be sure. It would be nice if I could filter the client side replays especially by jet cause starting up sifting through replays from that list is pulling teeth.

A-5C will do fine at 10.7, but could be 10.3 without much of an issue tbh. It does get overshadowed a lot because of constant uptiers, but that’s not a A-5C exclusive problem.
The A-5C in the right hands is a menace. It’s essentially slightly heavier mig19 with flares and 2 magics. It will outrate most of everything it faces, and has a very strong acceleration.
The most common skill issues with it are bringing too much fuel, and dropping the throttle too much.
This jet sips fuel, and there’s not much point in going full afterburner near transonic speeds since it wont get you much faster. 15 to 18min of fuel will be plenty.
The engines take a LOOOONG time to spool up, if you cut your throttle to 0% it will take a long time to build the full thrust again. I don’t recommend cutting the throttle below 80%. If you need to control your speed just cut afterburner and deploy airbrakes.
Since it is essentially a mig19, you will compress a lot near mach, and if you have too much fuel on you, the jet will be very stiff at high speeds with low nose authority.
You should be around 10min of fuel or less before committing to the harder dogfights, and when you do, you should be patient and lag pursuit for a bit before committing to the kill. High deflection shoots at high speeds is not its strong suit, unlike the F-5s for example, but you have the best energy retention around, except when fighting J-7Es in a uptier or actual mig-19s in a downtier.

A-5C is designated as a “strike craft”, with it’s primary role being bombing bases, however it has strong competition in the slightest uptier (which is more than 80% of matches), being the F4E and the Tornados, that have better acceleration and topspeed, and ALWAYS reach bases first, forcing the A5C to wait the long and long minutes for bases to respawn, which usually happens when the match is almost over, or the A5C will just drop bombs on nothing and go dogfight, not to mention it has 18 contemeasures that fire two at time (making it 9), and in a full uptier it faces R24R from the Mig23ML, again… it is a “heavy” mig 19 facing R24R.
A-5C desperetly need to go back to 10.3, it will still face tornados and F4Es in a full uptier, but at that BR it will have a better chance to do what it is designed to do: bomb bases

I wouldn’t. They all get better base bombing kit, more CMs and 9Ls for the most part, and especially as they get some miserable 10.7s already, I don’t think that’s a very good comparison anyway.
Just to give him justice it doesn’t. Took over a minute to get 0.99, which is next to not possible in game. Prior to bomb drop it was capped at 0.96.
Which does get u a load less points than normal bombs.
Plenty of MiG-21s and F-4s, obviously might be mostly 11.0s.

I still think 10.3 is not an issue for this thing, it isn’t fast, as to not being able to get bases is normal, good IR missiles is the only saving grace, which is standard for this BR almost for attackers. Prior to napalms it was 10.0 if I’m not wrong, didn’t see any K/Ds.
Youd take the Subsonic Buccaneer at 10.7 with 2 aim9ls and no gun over the A5C?!

None of them pose any real threat in RB for air to air. Once spotted you cant out run or turn most things you will face. Which atleast with the a5c you can dogfight if need be.
I havent flown them loaded with bombs but could say with high confidence they will be slower than the A5C.

Pretty much not applicable since like MiG-19s A-5C locks up.
Which is true as they are attackers, and like A-10 or Su25 they are only given all aspects for this reason.
If u have dumped ur bombs and then u have two essentially wwii guns on the wings.
I haven’t said it is worse than them, but comparing it to literally some of the worst 10.7s isn’t exactly fair + the fact that they all have some form of advantages (CM count or all aspects alike)

Id do:
A5 no missiles 9.3- mig 19 no flares but does have 2x missiles so equal
A5 with 10g missiles 9.7
A5C 10.3
A-5C does NOT need to move down.
maybe the Magic 1s? Gaijin also rates it highly because it bombs on top of that without losing the magics.
The a5c is the premium with flares and missiles at 10.7
The 2 A5s at 10.0 have no missiles but flares. 9.3 would be a fair BR as mig 19.has no flares but missiles so evens out.
Its has to be so high because of bombs as magic 1’s and flares are on mirage at 10.3 IIRC
