BR fixes and changes for realism

Hey Gajin, major issue happening, for the past few months I’ve noticed the crazy BRs and uptiers, for a example my last match I was playing in 6.7 USA and got up tiered to 7.7 with Cold War era tanks and HEAT rounds, this is extremely unfair and unrealistic for tanks from ww2 to be fighting Cold War tanks with HEAT what I’m a supposed to do in a jumbo Sherman 76 against HEAT and helicopters flying around the map?

Fix your game gajin

This is not a real issue and is not a problem, uptiers at certain BRs happen all the time.

Nobody of the right mind believes this to be the case

realism? ww2 german tanks fight post wwar vehicles ot cold war in same br :D

War Thunder don’t separate vehicles based on eras because there’s none of that. That’s called battle rating, and battle rating reflects the capability of the vehicle to withstand easily battle rating 1.0 lower vehicles but also being capable to combat reliably battle rating 1.0 higher vehicles.

People consider battle rating 6.7 as “late WW2” because most vehicles at this battle rating is from that time, people consider battle rating 7.7 as “early Cold War” because most vehicles are from that time. Some easy examples like the Pbv 301 (infantry fighting vehicle variant of the platform at battle rating 2.3) served the Swedish Army between early '60s to early '70s.

Object 279 another good example was projected around late '50s and early '60s, currently sitting at battle rating 9.0 even though can be easily labeled as “early Cold War” type of vehicle. And it’s kinda obvious why it’s sitting at battle rating because even though it’s a early Cold War vehicle, its capabilities will outperform every vehicle at the most realistic battle rating for that vehicle. Same applies to the Pbv 301.

Shoot them? There are very few HEAT firing tanks in the jumbos BR range that it cannot easily penetrate and 1 shot. Also, almost all HEAT rounds at that BR have pinprick post pen meaning it often takes 2-3 shots to kill anything. A tiger 2s 88mm APHE will center mass and kill a jumbo with ten times more reliability as anything with HEAT the jumbo faces. Also also, there are tanks with those same HEAT rounds as low as 5.7. (M36B2).

Shoot them with your pintle .50 cal. They all have FFARs that requires them to fly in nice and low and slow, and they get absolutely shredded by MG fire. Try flying one, they are horrific to play and grind. You maybe get one kill a game before being shot down, if you are lucky.

Oh and also the Jumbo is 6.3, it physically cant see the lowest BR 7.7 Helis unless you uptier it in a 6.7 lineup

It would be impossible to make a game 100% realistic and balanced at the same time. It can be frustrating but would you rather a game or simulator.

That has nothing to do with realism.
On top of that, 7.7 stuff is barely better than end of war tanks, some of which are prototypes form the end of the war.

And USA have M36B2 with HEAT on 5.7 from the 1950s

Uptiers and downtiers are a mindset. It simply doesn’t matter as much as long as you know what you’re doing.

Unless you’re one of those folks who overspent on something like an IS7 or Object 279. Poor guys still get owned and play those tanks like their light vehicles camping all game for an L.

Hahaha imagine if that were true!

Bro I am running premium hellcats from 6.0/6.7 in my 7.7 line up.

It is a mindset of how you chose to engage. If I rush in or get overly confident on a second spawn, I get ganked.

I also bring the 6.7 african light tanks in my 7.7 british line up.

Same thing. You play cautiously and scout, take shots of opportunity and grab an early cap. I regularly get 2-4 kills in my hellcat plus a cap in the first few minutes of the game.

Heavy tanks you have to play conservatively, mind your positioning and pre range your shots through binos before popping a hill and taking a shot.

Push to far, a light tank with heat or aphe ruins your day. Play too far back and wiff your shots and miss the action. Play next to your allies and be ready to push corners in tandem to punish corner campers that disable or kill your ally. Etc.

That’s not what I mean lol

yep very unrealistic for ww2 tanks to fight cold war tanks, definitely did not happen during the six day wars

It is except for ARB, it’s just not the same. GRB doesn’t matter much at all

But this is a ground thread.

It’s still the same answer. BR uptiers and downtiers is a mindset. If someone struggles with heavies they don’t know basic war thunder. He has the jumbo which has a vertical stabilizer and 50 cal struggling against helicopters and HEAT rounds. He is just getting outplayed

Yeah, frankly the issue here isn’t the uptiers it’s you playing the 76 jumbo and expecting it to perform exceptionally. The armor is still good at it’s br but you have to play more carefully and place your shots better. Yes, some tanks really need to be downtiered either because of poor performance at br or frequent uptiers being unfair, but the 76 jumbo is fine. I can fight an f18 in a spitfire and win. Uptier performance reflects more skill and vehicle choice than balance.

No, it is not the same in both game modes
