BR compression

I have seen that they are also going to raise the BR to the C13 T90 and the AUBL 74, but are they going to give them a reasonable precision? They seem like horrible vehicles to me, any shot at more than 200 meters is a bad precision lottery and how do they use HEAT -FS that you need to aim at exact points means that they are not worth much, unless they fix that precision error, since it cannot be that, for example, the KV2 has much better precision than those tanks.

Gaijin has done a great work. I hope they’ll continue with BR decompression.

It’s a little nerf, but the apds perform differently than Solid core (here difference with L28A1, M728 and L15A3 vs T-55AM-1) :

M728 and L15A3 are similar performance, able to pass the upper front armor of the T-55AM-1 more than 1000meters, L28A1 cannot (with more armor perforation on ‘the stats card’).

Other example, 120mm L1G shot vs L15A3 shot on T-55AMD, 1000 meters (same armor):

Conclusion : Yes, the Chieftains Mk.III and Mk.V lost some armor penetration on its L15A3 on 90 degre, but The shell still performs well in removing sloped armor and against most vehicles it encounters.

The issue of the APDS is curious, for example they made the change of the APDS models separating them into first generation and second generation models, an example of the first generation would be the APDS of the conqueror and the centurion of 83mm gun, which were made of tungsten pure, on the other hand, the second generation ones would be made of tungsten alloy, with which they have different features. Pure tungsten bullets penetrate a lot at 0º, instead of 60º, the penetration is quite low, apart from being made of pure tungsten, they tend to break on impact, So if they hit spaced armor thick enough to break them, because they do not penetrate the inner layer, instead the second generation ones do not break on impact and continue on their way until they lose all kinetic energy. The issue here is three things The first is that in the game it is okay for 1st generation APDS to break into separate armors, the second is that as it breaks easier the 1st generation APDS should do more damage than 2nd generation PADS or even APHEs They already fragment into many pieces of tungsten at high speed and temperature, and third is that the chieftain’s APDS is second generation, so it is normal for it to easily pierce a T-55AM-1 with its external composite armor and a conqueror not. Apart from the fact that in reality it would be impossible to compare them:
Conqueror - 1955
T-55AM-1 - 1983

it’s not my point, at that BR and higher every tank has a dart or more amunition options to compensate for the lack of penetration in their dart, russian tanks don’t even need the slopped performance since most nato tanks at that BR gap are paper thin, and still get atgm’s and decent grade heat to somewhat compensate for it, or at that if you go to the vehicles that used to be 8.7, all have a dart that is notably better than L15A3, and that’s ignoring that in uptiers it will now face tanks like the T-64BV, meanwhile russian tanks got a reload rate buff for their BR increase, the chieftain mk3 remains completely untouched in any regard, at this point and it now being 8.7, it should be getting L23, for it’s new br bracket it will need it for uptiers, along giving it to the MK5, the addition of the dart is the only reason of why the only chieftain i bother playing is the mk10, since the other 2 face the higher tier russian or nato tanks with a mediocre APDS core round.
It’s not a bad round, it simply should be getting a better one.
