How can a jet that only has infrared compete against Aim-120, Fakour-90 and R-77?
Jh-7A uses PL-8 and PL5 both without radar, with a missile with low efficiency in BR 12.3, I played more than 30 matches all up tier.
A jet with an efficiency of less than 5% in the match is a jet that can barely take off without dying.
At the very least, JH-7A should join the PL-5EII.
There’s really no reason it should be 12.3 when the F-4EJ Kai and M2KC-S5 are also there. If it so much better than the Kfir C.7 (not really) than just move the Kfir down. Hopefully during their next decompress they put the JH-7A in line with the current 12.0s.
I haven’t touched that jet since before they added FOX-3, but I remember having quite an enjoyable time with the 500kg parachute bombs (they have 325kg explosive mass, compared to 218 of the non-parachute). I never really rated the PL-8/Python3, I know they move great - but just so easy to flare, I think they’re on par with the AIM-9L in that regard. But I guess we need to remember that there are other aircraft at 12.3 in air battles in a similar situation, including SU-25SM3 (though, gets 2xR-73) and Kurn 2000 (though… 6x Python 3). Quite a few strike aircraft needing a shake up, since there is no excuse to use their ground battle effectiveness as an excuse to inflate BRs in air battles, anymore.
The biggest problem you would face in JH-7A is that you’d often have to compete with a swarm of F-4S and even F-16A for bases, they’d generally beat you there. But since they nerfed rocket damage to bases, it’s a bit better. You can make a tidy profit if you can take out some bases and then taking out some distracted enemies and then repeating the process, for example:
But if you only wanting to use this thing as a fighter, you’d be better off just using J-8F or even dropping down to J-7E.
I’m not using it to fight, I just can’t get to the battlefield to take down bases because it only falls against 13.3, I’m empty with it as there aren’t many jets in the same BR it will only fall against 13.3 how to play.
I died 35 km away from getting close to a base, it’s not about fighting but a jet that doesn’t even have a chance of surviving after taking off, just like others in the same situation, a Lobby Jet only taking takeoff points to level up.
