A couple times now I have dropped a 3000kg bomb on B cap on Vietnam and the bombs land in the shallow creek/river in the cap and detonate. You wouldn’t think this would cause any issues, but that small amount of water the bomb lands in effectively negates the bomb to the point where it lands right in front of them and all it does is track and knock out their gun.

Probably quite realistic.
Explosions in deep water can be constrained and so exercise a lot more force on something - but in shallow water they are not constrained, and a lot of teh energy goes to shifting water up and out and that’s wasted energy.
But if it is realistic is is probably accidental!

the water isnt deep enough for that to happen. A good portion of the bomb is exposed to the air. also, when the bomb hit the water is did a small bounce like it was hitting a solid object, like a tank
