Bombs exploding by enemy fire the moment you drop the bomb

Has anyone noticed as of late bombs seemingly detonate immediately upon being release despite the enemy missing you / the bomb?

Is it an exploit?
Or a glitch?
Maybe even a cheat?

Regardless, it’s beyond aggravating watching the enemy team missing me, then, the absolute moment I hit the button to drop my bomb, not only is my bomb “hit” but then my plane is gone due to the explosion.

Have you experienced this as of late? (Last year)

And what do you think is causing this to occur?

It happens but not when they miss. Must be a connection issue, and a delay of the shot visually.

Just like when you shoot a helicopter with a tank, you see in the replay you missed

Must be a server side issue then. Because I usually run 23-26 ping, and 0% pk loss.

I have 1 gb/s download speed.

Yeah its always server issue, you could have the most expensive starlink internet, but still have PL and delays visually

Yeah seems to be a lot of server issues as of late.

Non to my benefit unfortunately

only when they actually hit the bomb

You must have been oblivious to the many similar threads in the past.

It is a feature. It is even written up in the economy report.

Just because you refuse to read what I wrote, doesn’t mean I don’t know how it works.

Picture this, you dive in for a bombing run, an SPAA begins to shoot at you, it’s missing every shot, you drop the bomb. Despite the SPAA missing you, and your plane, the bomb randomly explodes, credits the kill to the spaa, and you get screwed.
Ironically it seems to happen more from PC players, which is a bit suspicious

Tbh the ping displayed in the game seems to be kinda a lie, I sometimes get comparable numbers while being able to easily feel the poor connection

I found tracers often desync on higher ping and longer ECSB games. Might happen to random GRB games as well depending how they do game servers and stuff. Even if not, most belts are like 1 tracer per 5 or 7 rounds. Meaning, most of the bullets will appear invisible. except for barely visible condensation trails (?) - meaning: I’m shooting at you with my 109, you see green tracer fly in FRONT of you (thus assume I over-shot) then get smacked by the AP-I and HEI shells in your engine/cockpit since they didn’t have tracers.

bad design . . . something that MIGHT happen one in a million times
happens regularly in every single match I play . . . it needs adjusting badly
it’s pretty ridiculous and gimps bombers even more than they already are

I only need someone to sneeze in the direction of my bomber and it explodes, one of the worst mechanics Gaijin introduced.

You don’t even need good rounds to trigger it.

I sprayed vaguely at a bomber in my P40 once and it went boom.

With explosive rounds or more advanced late war incendiaries it’d feel more plausible but we’re talking the default belt of P40E.

Yeah bomber survivability is a joke. The funniest thing is playing 4he T-18B-57 and blowing up enemy bombloads. The explosions are spectacular.

Today I had a strage occurance twice. When I got rid of bombs while my gunners were busy, I heard a very loud explosion. I had no damgage. It could not have been enemy fire, because I was behind a fighter without rear guns.

I am not sure what happened there. But it was right after I ditched them. And I was very high, so no impacts.

Lol yeah, I mean I have died twice to AI AA, not because they actually hit my plane, but because they shot one of the 20 bombs I dropped and it somehow, chain reacted explosions up the line of ordinance back up to my plane.

Something that has never happened, ever, in human history but is very prevalent in WT it seems.

L ragebait bro.

Reading only the title is sad.

I took a clip recently of an M163, not sure off the top of my head how many tracers per belt, but this dude was a country mile away from me, no tracer ever came close.

But the moment I hit the button to release the bomb, it’s like he shot it.
But there was no possible way he could have.

Here’s a live example of what I mean.

I have tracers flying wild all around the 109 G.

There’s 3 red tracers in the sky.

I had 340 rounds. I have 330 rounds left.

The 109 G got hit by one of the invisible rounds and lost its tail (no “pilot unconcious” message, no “severe damage”, “aircraft destroyer” meaning: tail removed)

However, based on just the tracers I missed them quite widely (the black dot is tiny: probably like 0.8 or 1.0 km away meaning the distance between the red tracers is quite significant)
