I believe this shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, current state of bombers are in absolute ridiculousness, even way more than how ridiculously fragile they were before the update.
Current bomber dms practically does not permit kill by structural damage, even with 30mms or even 37mms, which should absolutely wreck any part of bomber taken hit in several times.
Don’t get me wrong, bomber survivability buff was much needed, but they have over done it by several tenfolds, it would be fun for a day or two but I’m pretty sure everyone will be extremely annoyed by next week.
It’s absolutely insane. Bombers are even stronger than they were back in 2014. I played a game like 45 minutes ago. A B-26 and B-25 were literally flying 100 feet over our airfield, and didn’t get shot down. Logged out as soon as the game ended. Until this nonsense is toned down, I’m just going to log on to do dailies, so I can get the Italian ground vehicle to sell.
The whole front page of r/warthunder is a wall of bomber mains gloating that they’re ruining the game again. Prop BR’s were already hellish and supremely unfun but this is the final nail in the coffin.
I disagree. What im seeing is folks got lazy and so used to slotting in on the tail and blowing a bomber up in one burst they forgot there is technique to safely bomber hunting. Belts matter, APPROACH really matters.
I think the new buff needs to marinate a bit, say a week or two - maybe a month - then adjust. Give the data and community some time to adjust.
No, just no. I’ve gotten behind a BV238 With an ME210 and systematically targeted the engines. I had all 6 engines on fire. I pulled off. All fires were put out, and the BV238 lasted the entire match. The same guy in the BV238 brought it again in the next match. He was killed by a HE 100, respawned and some other plane with rifle-caliber peashooters killed him again. Bombers are completely broken, plain and simple.

since even before the patch people with good marksmanship and gunshipping skills got tons of kills in bombers
That implies effort, something bomber players seem allergic to. You can dig on the subreddit and find people asking ad verbatim for auto-aim gunners from 2014 again to farm furballs. Despicable group of people.
