Bomber killers ruining their team

Almost every match, we have a couple of people on our or any given team that are above the entire enemy team.
They consist of fighters, interceptors and twin engines - their position is great and have altitude advantage above the enemy.

However despite having this massive advantage over the entire enemy team, they prioritise insignificant bombers.

In doing such they either allow the enemy fighters to get into position to kill them while they prioritise pointless bombers.

OR they kill 1 or 2 bombers and rtb and J out.

This is a major air RB problem.

Imagine I have 20k hours, am flying a meta fighter and have put myself into a perfect position to destroy anything, I kill 2 bombers that have no outcome on the match then RTB and j out and leave you to fight the enemies I could have killed.

This is a problem why matches are thrown in in the first few mins.

Majority are willing to throw all advantages in favour of 1 insignificant kill or they focus insignificant targets and rtb.

It is pathetic.

ALOT of people do this.

Veterans are culprits who know better but choose not to then flex k/d.

No integrity these days.

And……… a solution? Sure people fly up and kill bomber, I do it in the bearcat all the time. But people then fly back down to attack enemies, so it doesn’t hamper the team at all.

I think they’re the one flying the bomber and being upset at being got.

‘No integrity these days’ “Won’t you just leave Brittney alone!!!”

I only play jets so I haven’t faced this problem but… if your teammates leave after a while doesn’t that just mean more kills for you? Unless you’re playing a support fighter of course, then you can’t do much alone

Yo bro it’s been like this for a while. Plus this is only really a problem at like 6.0-7.7, which are dreadful BRs anyway.

I’ve spaded a lot of bombers and my recommendation if you are mad about playing in RB is:

  1. Deal with it or just avoid the bomber unless you really are dedicated to spading bombers at which point again, deal with it

  2. If you want real bomber gameplay just play sim. It’s honestly pretty good for prop bombs and just don’t be a dumbass

No, I mean that every single match you will get these people who prioritise the first aircraft or bomber they see at the expense of the team.

Why did you lose that match Ham? “well we had 10 players on our team versus the enemy 10 but everyone on my team chased the first bomber they saw and turned their backs to the inbound enemy fighters and the fighters shot them all down while they were all competing for that 1 bomber kill”

Put it this way: If I fly a bomber I KNOW that I am giving my team a better chance of winning as long as I do not just fly straight to a base or the whole enemy team.
WHY?
Because I know that I will keeping a large chunk of the enemy team occupied while my team easily cleans up.
I can literally be bait - regardless of whether I die or not.

Having a bomber on your team occupying the enemy muppets while you annihilate the rest of them is equal to having a couple more players on your team.

I mean, imagine being really desperate for a kill, but instead of staying with your team and engaging the MULTIPLE inbound fighters and possibly getting a few kills - you decide to leave them in order to compete with 6 others for a single kill.
Then wondering why you didnt get a kill or lost the match.

It is VERY frequent that at the start of the match, I will be climbing to achieve altitude but in a fighter with not a good climb or turn speed and while doing so, I notice enemy fighters in the distance already higher than me and more agile than me and I think “oh crap”.
But then they notice a bomber off to the side or something and they just do a 90 degree turn and give chase for the next couple of minutes - I think “thank god for that” and in turn it allows me to climb unopposed and reach my target altitude, get some kills and win the match.

If they had prioritised me initially, then they could have easily killed me and gone back for the bomber and won the match. - - But their greed resulted in a death and a lost match.
This is every match this happens.
Everyone wants that quick, easy kill even if it means sacrificing a win, their vehicle or simply more kills.

Eat your dinner first then you can have dessert. A concept unknown to most here.

Bomber’s whenever they can get a base they contribute to the team by reducing the enemy teams tickets

bombers are not useless just most dont know how to play it or get outplayed

the main purpose of an interceptor is to intercept bombers. And i don’t see anything wrong with that.

I agree but just prioritise other stuff first if it is there.
Ignoring a high alt fighter or something in favour of that bomber just to ultimately get shot down immediately after by that fighter you ignored is just terrible gameplay and decision making.

Let me word it differently: Dear enemy fighters, thankyou for having 40% of your team chase the same bomber for 10 minutes at the start of the match- It allows me to kill the rest of your team and put myself in a position to kill you and win the match - I would not be able to do so otherwise, gracias, thankyou for ensuring that I get a few kills, win the match and earn a nice lot of SL :) so thoughtful of you :)
Just dont be on my team, cheers.

Up to 16 (random) players on a team, all with:
. different daily / special tasks, trying to do them quickly
. trying to do battlepass tasks as quick as possible
. trying to get quickest score for Events
. different experience levels of the game mode / map
. trying to spade vehicles they don’t like (or modules, progression grind)
. different mindsets / state of mind
. just want the quickest action

Before the tasks, events (as they are now) and battle pass stuff, there was more reason to play as a team to win the match.
Unfortunately, with the above, it happens a lot less now.

100% I agree, said this for years, (the tasks etc) good to know someone else acknowledges it though :)

Even before the battle pass, there was little to no squading going on anyway. The squad forming room has always been a wasteland, and advice to squad ended up with scoffing and fell on deaf ears.

My favourite play with a bomber is to drag an enemy fighter (or two) away from the melee, preferably to ground level. It just means I’m helping my team out. A few hits from my tail gunner makes it even better.

exactly.

I love how you said “a few hits” and not “a kill” because bomber gunners are dogwater lol

Depends on BR. Some can be pretty effective.

True, those that have cannons are super effective, but low tier bombers/attackers with just a few 7mm or 13mm mg do barely anything

That’s crazy bro
