For what it’s worth, generations should be a leap ahead in airframe design. And if a plane isn’t 6th gen, and instead a 5.5th gen, doesn’t mean its worse in overall capabilities. Kfir C10 is better than “4th gen” F-14A Tomcat. Generations shouldn’t mean one is worse or better, but rather the tech of the airframe design.
What’s special about removing vertical stabilizers is it is a leap ahead in an engineering feat. The US and other countries for a long time could not achieve supersonic speeds when removing vertical stabilizers, hence why the B-2 and B-21 Raider are subsonic and also why I don’t regard the B-21 as 6th gen even though Northrop claims it is.
The ability to go supersonic and remove vertical stabilizers have many upsides/advantages and also amounts to a breakthrough in engineering. It increases fuel effiency, decreases drag, decreases cross section, and also proves that a country/manufacturer can accomplish an engineering feat. Fighter generations should be, “Did this country unlock the capability to make this design”. Not necessarily if the plane is better in every aspect.
I’m fully aware that removing vertical stabilizers could have a few advantages, although still GCAP could probably change its design. I also was stating earlier than doing so doesn’t really mean that a plane is instantly better in every aspect but I understand
They did show this design but imo I don’t know about the canards, it looks pretty, well kind of unique but also strange for an NGAD, I could just be morally wrong
having damn sexual fantasies about america XDDDDD , you should accept that the United States has already been surpassed.
our Mr. Trump only needs to announce what he wants to do, and whether he succeeds or not is not important. he just needs to make some people psychologically feel that America is great. and take all the credit onto oneself.
just like some believers like to say that J20 has duckwings, so it is not invisible. but now the 6th generation american aircraft also has duckwings, and those believers say: now it can become invisible.
XDDD
LOL, from concept drawing to service in 4 years… I will believe it when I see it, the F-35 is still randomly falling out of the sky and that had a flying prototype 23 years ago. It took 5 years to go from prototype to production model and took 9 years from 1st production variant to entering service.
