Boeing F-47 Next Generation Air Dominance Fighter Jet

Yeah, i feel like 6th gens will expand further into the stealth/sensor area and focus less on maneuverability. Even from an article i found it says that the F-47 will advantages over the F-22 like range and even more advanced stealth but nothing on maneuverability.
I feel like the F-47 (totally not trumps suggestion for that name) will be the F-35 but Boeing flavored, just more advanced because of tech and slightly different concept.
The other two Chinese rumored 6th gen projects also have no vertical stabilizers (J-36 and J-50) so it does seem like the concept is based around similar tactics and concepts between 2 different nations.

Its simply different countries operate differently.
The us doesnt share informatuon about thing until theyre either finished and pperational, or they simply are binned.

Both are technical validation machines, but the J-36 is still better looking

Yeah but the J-36 i feel like is more of a high alt missile bus compared to something with the dimensions of the F-47, which we honestly don’t know but seems to be smaller in comparison and it’s more… Fighter shaped than the J-36. Also because the F-47 is meant to replace both the F-22 and F-35.

The J-36 literally reminds me of the Ho 229. But from that recent video it seems to turn a bit better than the 229.

it just is PPT lol

so because US isnt flying them over cities its just a PPT?

Over the past five years, in strong partnership between the Air Force and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, X-planes have been laying the foundation for the F-47. These experimental aircraft have flown hundreds of hours, advancing stealth, range, and autonomous systems while refining operational concepts.

Yeah… They’ve been flying PowerPoints for the last 5 years…

Will be as useful as the Nighthawk. You won’t appear on radar, but game mechanics uncover your position anyways. Either by player brackets or huge, very distinct contrails if you try to avoid eyeball detection by flying high.

Current game mechanics make stealth approaches quite a bit pointless in main game modes. Superior flight performance is likely still with 4th gen air superiority fighters. Just look at this animation, its all about stealth, I can’t imagine this thing maneuver alot, due to lack of control surfaces.

bro it got unveiled TODAY 😭😭

It’s not a suggestion post, just a discussion thread.

Well, if that would have been commercial civil aircraft - maybe
But with defence boieng had less troubles

Can also put F/A-XX on that list

If you’re referring to GCAP, they already modified the Excalibur flight test plane with pods for accommodation of the various sensors and systems. I’m not sure if they’ve already mounted them though. 3 pods are currently installed.

From December:

Additional pods are to be mounted on the test plane in another phase, including that of the radar.

Bläh.

They don’t build Aircraft anymore.

Let’s face it, the Golden Age of Aviation is over.

Logical evolution of course, but I’ll sure miss the Spitfires, Sabres, Hunters, Phantoms, Tomcats, …
Yah know, real aircraft, that you had to “fly”, not just “control”…

canards help it fly without vertical stabilizer

canards are for high speed i guess

Might be, would make sense if you need to control that airflow magic to still work at around or over mach 1.

thats why they call it 6th gen lol

This proves that American engines are outdated and have to use canards.

no, for high speed, it will guarantee the safety of jet
