Boeing F-15EX Eagle II - Sharpening the Bald Eagle's Talons

Not a render btw. A real photo of F-15SA.

14 with 12 amraams and 2 sidewinders?
I can imagine it in game due to the fact that on the GE, sidewinders prevent the use of MRML below them, but irl they use 9X which doesn’t have that issue, so how does that work

maybe

as long as they dont fuck its thrust curves or weight like they have done for other F-15s

The engines should keep it comfortably in top 10 dogfighters ingame. Besides the F-14’s for some reason the F110 engine curves in WT are pretty good.

The real question is which tech tree? My bet is after the F15E, since it has nowhere to go after that, and F15C GE is going to br 15.0 next update

Probably after F-15E. If Gaijin does that, then I don’t see the issue.

Genuinely feel like its missing the AARGM-ER and the MAWS

MAWS is not present on F-15EX in teaser.

Kinda crazy how I said, keyword, “Missing”

Imo I want it after the F-15C. The E in it’s name moreso signifies its a double seater than a dedicated strike aircraft. It’s primary role is counter-air and supporting 5th gens with striking being a close second. We can leave the bomber line to the Growler or future strategic bombers.

Nah, it more signifies it as a strike airframe. The D is the standard dual seater airframe (Derived from the C).

And it retains F-15E’s strike capability, and they expand it on the EX airframe.

Dunno about AARGM-ER but current F-15EX fleet in US service does not fit the MAWS
It wasnt until a month ago that they put a budget request to install MAWS on the US fleet and being that its a budget request right now and not actually confirmed yet its possible it wont happen

But the Airforce wanted it because the F-22 orders cut cut a production stopped. They needed a support air superiority fighter. That’s why although it’s the F-15EX, and not the canceled X, it’s not the Strike Eagle II, but the Eagle II. It’s a pretty clear continuation of the C just bringing the strike capabilities along with it from the E.

I did misspeak however on the “E” being a dual seat signifier that’s my bad.

considering its heavier than the 15e i doubt it

Well there is some time between SA and EX. It’s possible there were some changes to make it lighter but regardless it still isn’t all that bad when you consider the better engines

With the FBW improvements and seeing the AoA of the Eagle II in airshows it seems like it’ll be very decent. Maybe I’m wrong that’s how it looks though. I talked to a pilot online and he said with no fuel tanks including CFTs the F-15EX gains a lot of new possibilities in the visual arena against contemporary fighters. Kinda vague but I took that as better dogfighting performance.
