Body Armor
Though out history defense has always been an important part of offence. If you can avoid injury and keep fighting then armor is a valuable addition to a troopers equipment roster. As arrows moved to led shot metal armor would become too thick and heavy for practical use and would either shrink or disappear from the battlefield. Armor would once more find some value in WW1 in the form of helmets to protect against splinters, thick leather padding for physical fights, and thick metal armor sometimes popped up from time to time which would have found a home in a medieval castle. In WW2 such development continued an example would be the soviet Stalnoi Nagrudnik armor which would be given to specialized troops. In the post WW2 world material advancements would continue in the realm of ceramics and polymers allowing some form of protection to this day from ballistic and blade weapons. bullet resistant vests can be found everywhere from military’s, police to even mall cops. Armor can boost moral or save your life but it is not everything even knights of old could be defeated by a dagger if you know what you are doing. Remember trust in the outer layers of the survivability onion they are there for a reason.
