Increasing it is not really the solution, since even at the top tier the vehicle is already very strong. The real issue with the vehicle is its armor model, which—without ERA—makes the RNG overwhelmingly favorable to the BMPT. It requires a direct adjustment to both the armor model and its modules, because it makes no sense for slat armor to completely stop a projectile with more than 600 mm of penetration.
Ultimately, the entire BMPT model needs to be revised, including the number of modules, which currently only serve to increase RNG.
Absolutely, and you’re completely right. I wouldn’t be surprised if they left it with errors. You just have to remember that when it first appeared on the DEV server, the BMPT had 500 mm of armor across the entire model, and it wouldn’t surprise me if this caused issues on Gaijin’s side. What we have now is a vehicle that is overly strong and extremely difficult to destroy due to the inconsistency of the damage it takes, which goes far beyond the game’s usual RNG. The BMPT outperforms everything else.
I would say War Thunder and the BMPT are just not going to work out even if it’s redone at this point. Some tanks just can’t be saved and I feel this is one of them. As mistakes go @Elli4ss the chassis of the BMPT-72 , in game mechanics at least, will stop projectiles at point blank range with ERA regardless of your ammos penetration unless your in a really high angle view of the ERA. The BMPT map wise also has an advantage with it’s small turret making it difficult to kill if someone plays it right after patch causing further outrage.

Yes, the armor is good, and so is the armor of things higher up.
The primary reason BMPT is OP is a combination of the armor being strong, AND the armor of its targets [which would include T-72A TURMS] being rather poor.
120S, Sabra, Merkava Mk2D, etc don’t have the protection of 12.0s and higher against HEAT projectiles.
Of course, I’m not dismissing the speculation that it could be useful at top BR.
Just pointing out there’s a difference between 800mm HEAT warheads attached to missiles and 600 - 750mm penning APFSDS rounds.
I am starting to think that Gaijin is unable to introduce more classes because they spaghetti coded the ever living hell out of WT. Same goes for the vertical tec tree lines. Can’t go past 5.

Bmpt isnt balanced at all and need deep review and lot a changes so it wont break the game.
I tried to show people how to kill it, even as a bmpt main and german main stuck at 11.0 with go against bmpt.
You can continue your game it wont matter to me at all. Devs also know how you reacted and possibly and probably will do it.
Delete both BMPT and give them a refund to those who bought the premium version. Do you know what happens if this is done? The whole community will be happy again.
And if someone says “it needs a balance,” well, put it at 11.7 to 12.0 where these tanks really belong, and that’s the end of the story.
Gaijin already said that he will be promoted from BR again, if I’m not mistaken. I could be wrong, but it’s clear that he will be promoted, but people think that this will happen overnight
Instead of “he” you should instead specify the vehicle; in this case specifying “BMPT”.
“Promoted” works, but typically we say “increased in BR” or “uptiered”.
its just your average russian op vehicle of the moment where the whole community complains,make videos about and clearly shows a russian bias since lack of balance plus gaijin take months to balance it.
